Fee Posted January 19, 2009 Report Share Posted January 19, 2009 Luby is a beautiful 7 year old Collie Cross who came into Oldies Club care because her owner was moving to accommodation where dogs aren’t allowed. Luby is in an Oldies Club foster home in Bracknell, Berkshire. Friendly little Luby is a sweet, lively girl and is well behaved. She isn’t used to living with other dogs but is good with ones she meets - wary but friendly, and although not used to living with cats she seems to ignore them. She’s wary of young children but could live with teenagers. Luby is an energetic girl who loves her walks. She is good on the lead and walks quite nicely. She loves to be off lead but can be reluctant to come back to have her lead back on! She would therefore benefit from some reward-based recall training. She loves travelling in the car. Luby is full of personality and her foster carer says she’s an amusing girl with some funny ways that include talking to you! She loves cuddles and is generally quiet, when she isn’t singing a little song as in this video (she is a little camera shy though!). She is happy to be left alone for a few hours and is affectionate without demanding a lot of attention. She knows lots of commands and is eager to please. She is nervous and jumpy but she may become braver once she is settled in her permanent home and feels loved and secure. She is frightened of anything that resembles a big stick. Luby is microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, wormed and flea-treated. She has what has been described as a ‘lazy’ back right leg. The vet said it was a bit sluggish but not due to arthritis or anything major. Luby’s foster carer tells us: I am sure that when she is fully settled into her new home she will become a loyal friend and a happy and obedient companion.
