My son has been despirate to go to the lakes for ages and we don't live too far away,but i would have to take the dog and she has never been camping before. AngieK9 Posted July 23, 2008 Report Share Posted July 23, 2008 We've been to a lovely site called Park Coppice at Consiton, caravans in a woodland or tents by the lake, you can walk across the fields to the village. There is a dog walking enclosed area, you have to keep them on a lead though. We take our lot to Grizedale Forset which they love. There's a couple more we heard about recently will try to find them. Mrs Mop Posted July 24, 2008 Report Share Posted July 24, 2008 I use the Camping and Caravan Club sites, they are dog friendly and don't charge extra for them. They also allow tents which the Caravan Club doesn't. The Caravan Club site at Low Manasty is very good if you have dogs, go through the gate and you have lots of free running for your dogs.
