Jack - Gentle Westie Needs Retirement Home

Recommended Posts

Jack is a 12 year old gentle Westie who is looking for a retirement home to call his own. He is currently in the care of an Oldies Club foster home in Lincolnshire and this is what his foster family have to say about him:

“Jack is a lovely, calm gentleman who takes everything in life at a slower pace than most people, so we have to get up early to give him plenty of time for morning walkies and breakfast!

Jack lives happily alongside our cat and free range chickens and he isn’t fazed by them at all, in fact one of his favourite pastimes is picking up the odd bread crumb before the chickens find it!

Jack enjoys having cuddles with our 12 year old son and he would be happy to share his new home with children, provided they were older and sensible enough to understand his need for peace and quiet.

Jack is fine with other dogs and would be happy living alongside an older and slow dog like himself.

Jack is okay to be left for reasonable periods of time (up to 4 hours), but he would dearly love to find a home where someone is around to keep him company for most of the day.

We are all besotted with this little dog!â€

Jack is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated. Unfortunately, he has quite severe arthritis so has been prescribed Metacam which he will need to take daily for the remainder of his life.

During the summer months he suffers from sore feet, but a regular Maleseb shampoo and steroids during this period keeps it nicely controlled.

If you would like to find out more about Jack, please refer to our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process. You can then contact an Oldies Club rehoming co-ordinator as follows:

Email: [email protected]

Telephone: 0844 586 8656

Jack can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet him.

He's an angel  but he's been such a pampered pooch. He has to have his meat fresh everyday and will NOT eat leftovers from the day before, gravy has to be added in the correct quantity and all biscuits need a good telling off before he can eat them. Evenings must be spent on the sofa - corner position is best as you get the most fuss and all walk routes are decided by Jack else he's not going

We love him!
