Celebrating 2 January

Recommended Posts

I know I've been posting in the Happy happy joy joy Crimbo forum, because I wanted to really make an effort to enjoy christmas this year - not in the least thanks to my former flatmate and good friend, because she loves crimbo with a passion and sticks on the tunes in October already - but I'm now humbly (not to mention desperate!) asking to join you here

Well I really really tried, with as a result that I was stressed out about getting it all right, I've never cooked this badly this consistently as from Crimbo day till yesterday, and I got worse and worse at pretending I was liking it every day. It's my mum, we don't have any other family so she comes over for Crimbo and really looks forward to 'celebrating christmas', even if it's just us and the dogs. So I do try to oblige and make it a nice time for her, but to be honest I just can't be asked with it all.

Today I waved her off at the airport, and within an hour of arriving back home all the crimbo decs were gone and the tree is outside (I got one with roots, and I hope it'll survive once I stick it in the ground somewhere) - and I'm just so relieved to have a 'normal' house again!!

So tonight I'm celebrating the end of the "Festive Season": here's to 350 days without Crimbo nonsense - Bah Humbug!!

I'm with you there girl. I bailed out and went to JACKYSIANS where we got up Xmas day. Gave the dogs their presents. Took the dogs to the beach. Rode the horses on the beach, took the dogs back on the beach then home to a mexican meal and beer.

I can honestly say it was my best Xmas ever.

Over? Over! bah humbug..the trains are STILL not running and I can`t get anyone on the phone from councils, schools or quangos. I don`t think the country wil return to normal till next Monday. Next year I`m hibernating.
