What dog do you have? And what kind of things do you need to train?

If its a young dog, 'The perfect Puppy' by Gwen Bailey is always a good place to start. (also if its an older dog and a new owner)

Clicker training books are always good too. There are loads about. Anything by Karen Pryor is good.

i dont own a dog yet but i am hoping to get a CKCS in the new year, need to train nothing i suppose apart from the basics. i would like to do more than basics simply because from what i have seen the dogs enjoy it.

You can't go wrong with any of Ian Dunbar's books, or Kay Lawrence is good for clicker training, both easy to read and great advice, Ian's are particularly good. If you want something a bit more meaty I would recommend Jean Donaldsons The Culture Clash as a good starting point.
