agilitymad
i have for ages been trying to teach Lucky to put his paw over his face or to hide his face with his paw but he just isn't getting it in the past i have tried sticky tape on his wiskers but he soon gets fedup and just walks of with the tape still stuck to his wiskers not bothered at all i have tried blowing his face but he quite likes this and licks the air (most dogs don't like this and can bite the air so i don't recommend this one normally) my trainer said to lay something over his muzzle so he has to bop it of with his paw this works great but as soon a it falls on the floor and i wait for him to offer the behaviour he gets confused and picks up the object that i had layed on his muzzle i have been doing this with the object a small light weight lead over his muzzle over the past 3 days short and sweet but not adding a word but he is still not getting it should i be saying hide to him as he lifts his paw to touch his face? any suggestions would be great
lucyandmeg
I wouldn't say the word until you are sure he knows what hes doing, otherwise he may think associate it with something else. I have to admit i still haven't found a way to get murphy to do it, but ellie and meg caught on quite quickly.
