  1. Meg has got her silver award and murphy has got his intermediate award - something i'd never thought he'd get!
  2. The Hampshire Harriers came first in Div 2 at the european Championships last weekend in Beliguim it was an amazing feeling! Our other team the hooligans came 2nd after a nail biting finish in the final. A few weekends before meg's team got first place in div 1 for the first time ever! Its been a good month!
  3. I think pet plan is the best one, although obviously if its for an older dog and the vet has already said on its record's that the teeth are bad they wouldn't pay.
  4. You don't need to tell your old vets, but your new vets wil probably want your previous vets details to get any case histories, and sadly in this day and age we often have to check they have no outstanding bills with their previous vets too.
  5. They interviewed janine too so hopefully they may show a bit of our team racing in div one against the other teams (and being thrashed unfortunately!!)
  6. I'm sorry to hear this! Flyball does sort of take over your life doesn't it. Will look forwards to seeing you at the show, i'll be there all 3 days, can't wait.
  7. How can it be a prescription diet if you don't need a prescription? I would have thought that if it contained similar stuff to the hills and royal canin prescription diets it shouldn't be available to everyone over the net unless it comes with a prescription?
  8. A kelpie, a Border terrier, a papillion and a wocker. Oh and more collies!
  9. I presume you still need a prescription for them too though? I use royal canin urinary, which is great.
  10. Fantastic, i'm really pleased for you. I know exactly what its like to work so hard on a dog that looks like it is never going to get there. Its so rewarding when your hard work and patience pays off!
  11. Following on from the world record thread, i was just wondering if anyone knew how much of a difference the different types of boxes make on the speed of the dog? We currently use a boomerang box (the moon shaped one. ) THe dogs in our team are fast, averaging about 4.5 over high jumps, but the turns could be better. Looking at the other type onthe net, they claim that they improve the turn, and i notice that touch and go used the flatter fronted box. I vaguely remember that when meg did her 4.10 run (over low jumps) in the singles at botley they were using a flat fronted box. Is it worth buying a new box, and does it put more stress on their joints using the flatter fronted box?
  12. Absolutely, but then looking at the dogs walking round i also don't think it was wise to take them to walk round either. I saw so many little pups and big heavy coated dogs being dragged round. One terrier at the gates even looked like it had collapsed from heat exhaustion. Its not fair on the dog.
  13. Doesn't clipping make a dogs coat appear to grow back thicker too? I have been toying with the idea of clipping my springer, but i had also heard that the long coat helped keep them cool, so decided against it.
  14. It just amazes me how they have so many teams in america that can do under 17 seconds. In this country anything under 18 seconds is really good, but for them 15-17 seconds is the norm. I just don't know how they get so many fast dogs, that touch and go has about 18 dogs that do a run in under 4 seconds - yet there are only a handful of dogs in this country that can go that fast!
  15. THe harriers went sub 18 for the first time ever in sanctioned competition with proper timing yesterday! We did 17.91 at maidstone but as the timing had roken and they were using stop watches we were told it didn't count, but at all about dogs yesterday we smashed our seed time in every race in the morning. Our current seed time was 18.20, in the first race we went 18.19, second race, 18.10 and in the third race against the maple leafs we went 17.87!!!!! It all went wrong in the afternoon as the extreme heat got to both dogs and handlers, but we didn't care because we had achieved our goal of breaking the 18 second barrier and actually winning a leg against the maple leafs!
  16. Hampshire harriers came 2nd in div 1 with a fastest time of 18.20. We managed our most consistent racing ever being in the region of 18.20s all day except for the last race when they were all knackered!!
  17. Unless she is a very small lab i would imagine she is maxi, i think its over 20 inches. My springer and small goldie are both maxi, its only my 19 in collie thats std. If you are worried i would probably e mail the uka office. (contact details on the uka website). I've always found them really helpful. You might just need to go to the secretaries tent on the day - thats why i like uka, so much more relaxed than KC. The usually do measuring in the morning by the secretaries tent, so if you are worried about what height she is you could always get her measured.
  18. Megan has got advanced and Murphy has his flyball dog.
  19. I've been competing for 2 years now and still get terribly nervous going to a show. You'll be fine, UKA shows are the best place to start as they are quite relaxed. I find the best thing to do is watch some of the other beginners - sounds terribl but some rounds that you watch don't go so well and it does make you feel better about yourself - as least you aren't the only one of something goes wrong! I'm sure you'll do better than you think!
  20. I was really looking forwards to thames cos i love camping there and going to the evening entertainment, but cos i've been busy i haven't got round to entering. I've just seen on agilitynet that camping is full because of new space restrictions. I'm really not having much luck at the moment. If anyone hears of any camping passes going that people don't want (unlikely i know!) please, please let me know.

    Flyball

Bfa flyball If you have a look here they do an introduction to flyball video. Beware - its addictive!!!
  22. Penny charlton showed us the picture on her phone of your snow, we were unfortunate just having mountains of mud in botley. It was so horrendous!
  23. We've bought the van and will be picking it up next week!!
  24. So exciting! It looks great. My OH is test driving a van today! Its a silver transit swb, 135bhp! Perfect for towing the caravan. Its got plenty of room in the back and we are going to cage it out for the dogs so that they are more comfortable at agility and flyball shows. Its also got traction control and is rear wheel drive so will cope better going in and out of muddy fields thank god!! Fingers crossed its ok.
  25. Do you have her pedigree papers then?
