leonak
my 19 week old lurcher has just broken her toe. went to the vet yesterday who xrayed it and referred us to an orthapedic vet as its a funny break. anyway, she needs in operating on and that is going to be tomorrow hopefully. she has got to be crated between now and then and after the op needs to be crated for 4 weeks with 15 min walks daily. she is very very energetic, she is 1/4 collie and it really shows sometimes. i need some ideas of things to keep her happy besides pumping her full of food! any ideas of brain games i can play to tire her without her having to run would be very much apreciated.thanks in advance. LurcherGirl
First of all, I would feed her all her food in frozen kongs; this way you should be able to keep her busy for at least 2 hours a day... that only leaves you with 22 hours then... K9Fran
I wouldn't use Kongs if the break is in the front paw........ Mental stimulation is good though - so some carefully thought out training perhaps?
leonak
break is on outside toe of hind leg so kongs not a prob. i need to find training things to do that are fun, she switches of quite quickly so i wanted to do things that envolve her sniffing out food maybe but cant think of anything.
