  1. PMSL! WAKE UP CHERRYL! WE NEED TO KNOW HOW YOU ARE?????
  2. In which case there is somethin awry (even if you had no physical ports I would expect there to be virtual ports) Well its very odd that you only have 3 items - I would expecty it to be brimming with useless info. What does the "Remote Access" one actually say? Are you running the remote access connection manager service? DO you want to? IE do you let someone else connect to your computer to fix it for you? If not in the first instance I would turn that off.
  3. Success audit in security is fine. The ports you see listed in device management have notheing to do with being online. The ports (traditionally ) were the serial and parallel interfaces for printing and interfacing to external devicese etc etc. These days they can be more extensive - with bluetooth connections and such, It may well be that you just don't have any ports connected and therefore would not see anything - a lot of computers no longer have a serial or paralell port - and unless you have bluetooth enabled you may just not have anything. If there was anything serious going on I would expect to see it listed in the system events (listed as a red exclaimation mark) So there may be nothing to worry about at all.
  4. Hey Teg! GREAT to see you! Hi CHikkentikka now was that REALLY scarey?!?!?!? Morning all.
  5. security is yellow??? Oh dear You should drill down into the security events and see what is going on. On the other hand audit events within security are yellow - so its not necessarily a bad thing. Are your ports back after a reboot?
  6. Cherryl.... I think its time for bed "said Zebedeee" We are happy you are happy.... but I think 6 pints of water might be in order
  7. Is it green yellow or red? Green is good yellow is hohum red is not necessarily bad... but.....
  8. Have you rebooted? Are the ports back after a reboot? Is this the new laptop? Has it cooked itself? Oh - and is there anything in the event viewer? (assuming you are running XP)
  9. Flying weather check: Its a good day to be down here wishing you were up there rather than up there wishing you were down here.
  10. I "TWONK" too. Headache is abating. Contemplating sorting out badroom draws cupboards and throwing out the 500 articles of clothing neither of us EVER wear. Headache coming back.
  11. Morning all. I have a headache this morning - trying to drown it with coffee. I expect it will pass quickly. Hope so. Ow. Weather forecast for the Flying Squirrel is good Unfortunately the weather is not currently listening to the weather forecast. But I expect it will clear up laterer.
  12. Its probably something to do with wysiswyg playing up - try switching your board settings back to the normal text editor.
  13. I was at work. Trying to help someone do an RMAN Oracle restore to a remote server. After trying to help someone restore their SQLserver to the wrong server. Oh and teach someone UNIX fundamentals in 2 hours. Oh and work out why someone's NDMP restores don't work (unsupported FS !!) In between times I was trying to get domino server installed on my desktop. and now... I'M HOOOOME

  17. Jazz's friend came over tonight to collect spare dog beds and food to take to a rescue. He said "You have lots of dogs" then QB rushed up woo woo wooing. He stepped back from the stable door and said "is that a dog or a horse?" (but he did ruffle QB's ears which was very impressive as QB almost looked him in the eye......) Thanks Peter
