What about 9.45am at the Kookaburra coffee stand, if he's there, if not at the ordinary burger van. Then we can have a coffee before Wombat has to leave, I'm sure they'll spare her from ring 2 for 15 minutes.

    Teams

God no you don't want to be in my team, we've started off well but can't see it lasting Just waiting for Dudley to revert to form and bite me all the way round.
  5. Dudley Suzi (not at agility but jumping ) link to photo of Suzi and another one of Dudley (hope this one isn't so small) Paula, I have had to edit your photo of Suzi as it was too wide, I have changed it to a link to your photo, but feel free to repost it if you can change it to no more than 400 pixels wide Nicola

Lets hope the rings are more logical than they were at Vyne. If Kookaburra coffee are there i can usually be found lurking there or at the photo stand.

All my runs are in rings 1-3 but I seem to have loads If you fancy meeting up that would be great.
  8. Well he's either turned a corner or he's lulling me into a false sense of security but Dudley got 3 out of 3 clears rounds on Saturday with no biting and only a little bit of barking. Little Suzi got her first KC jumping clear round too, she was a little star even though she decided to leap off the top of the seesaw before it had even started tipping in the open agility.
  9. Dudley got an 8th in elementary jumping and a 10th in starters agility on Saturday and Milton Keynes. There was a time I thought I'd never get a clear round let alone a place. It's taken 3 years and we've got 3 places in the last month.
  10. Well done 'Big Duds'
  11. Well done. Dudley got a 2nd in beginners agility at UKA on Saturday and is now novice but I'm sure he will always be elementary at KC as he was really naughty at Vyne on Monday.
  12. Walked a novice course that was the hardest I've ever seen, why is it once you are eliminated you run the best course in your life.

    Clear Rounds?

Got no objections. I do our club one and take part too.
  14. I just feel slightly sick all the time during the summer
  15. I've been doing it for 3 years now and I get really nervous every time running orders drop through the letter box, I've got 5 lots at the moment so you can guess how I feel at the moment.

    Clear Rounds?

I think it would be nice to have something so we can all pat each other on the back as we all know how hard it is to get a clear round. Could I include Dudley who's not a rescue or would it just be for rescue dogs, personally I don't mind either way as I have Suzi too but it would be nice for it to open for all the dogs who's Mums and Dads come on here.
  17. Suzi was such a star over the weekend at her first outdoor agility show with proper open courses. There were some horrendous tight turns, pull through and changes of direction but she wasn't fazed and even went in her weaves FIRST time on her jumping class on Saturday and only missed her entry on the other courses because I was too far ahead of her. She did miss her contacts on Sunday but I think that was because she was ahead of me and she's used to me being with her at them so I'm going to work really hard on distance contacts. Dudley however was very naughty and seems to be back to barking and biting and if I could have left him at the show I would have but I think too many people know him and would have brought him back.
  18. Only advice I can think of at the moment is keep him on the lead until he really gets the hang of it as on the lead he can't make a mistake and thus get you frustrated. I have been having some problems with Suzi and the more she wouldn't/couldn't do them the more frustrated I get and the flatter my voice and body language goes and the more upset she gets. One vicious circle later and no one wins. I went back to putting her on the lead everytime we trained weaves and if she didn't go in at a show I have just run past and carried on with out getting annoyed and last night we had a great session where she went in nearly everytime and at the end she was even looking for the weave entry herself. Good Luck
  19. I have just checked with UKA and had a nice email from Laura, the rules now state that it's the dog that progresses. So you can have on in Beginners, one in Novice and another one in Champ classes. I think this is brillient as Dudley is nearly Novice but Suzi hasn't even started yet (although once she gets going she'll be the one winning Dudley out at KC, just gotta crack the weaves)
  20. Hi Wombat I've read the rules and it looks like they have made changes but I'll contact them anyway. Thanks
  21. Went to UKA at Newbury on Sunday with Dudley. We had 3 clears out of 3 runs and one of them was a 2nd in beginners jumping. If I've done my sums right we've only got to get 2 more points and he will be a novice in the performance side (agility and jumping) but still only a beginner in the steeplechase. Luckily it goes on the dog so Suzi will still be a beginner.
  22. Dudley was measured from mini to medium.(At UKA he was measured as 14.58") This has made no difference to him, I thought it would as he always went under midi height jumps but as they have been lowered I don't think he even notices and thats on indoor school surfaces on grass I'm sure he'll notice even less. Suzi was measured as a small. This is her first season so I'll have to wait and see how she does.
  23. That's brillient, wont be long before you are getting clear every time.

    Starting Off

Sorry no books I'm afraid but Yes start with the poles on the ground until they are really confident with the 'Over' command then raise them slowly.
