Well my local BUPA hospital is rather nice and posh The consultant was really funny and fell about laughing when I asked if he could 'anesthatise me rather than put me to sleep' because in my world the two are very different After x-rays it turns out my shoulder bones are grinding together when I move my arm, and my tendons are not in great shape either. He plans to 'give it a bloody good yank' while i am under, then shave the bone in the hope it will all work again when he is done. He offered to do it tomorrow but I declined as I need to organise cover for work... and Im a winp and not quite ready

The sun is cracking the flags again, so the concrete should go in today. Now if it would just warm up a bit more, I suspect the builders would get their kit off again

Its tipping down here. The footings for my extention are in, filled in with a big thick layer of polysirene on top. It sounds like 200 drums outside the back door Concrete goes on tomorrow then the brickwork starts.
  4. I agree with the others Laura, its time to dump the driving instructor and get a nicer one who doesnt make you miserable. I still get 'the speech' from my mother too My poor mother has gone into freefall panic because she is in Cornwall till Saturday and Im apprently not old enough or capable enough to see a consultant about my shoulder on Friday She was even considering phoning my sis in law or auntie to come along for moral support
  5. I was about to switch off the pc and call it a day.... only to realise its the last day of the month and I had all the month end paperwork to do Bugger
  6. Morning. weather forecast says sweltering hot day due... reality outside is a dull grey sky Chickentikka - I would love to try the shoulder thingy you have if you dont mind sending it up here
  7. A knackered shoulder is hardly life threatening though Griff, and to be fair, the NHS is unbeatable for serious illnesses needing rapid treatment. I'd rather not further stretch A+E by pretending Ive just done something that has been getting progressivly worse for months, though with hindsight I should have gone the day I injured it anyway
  8. Afternoon. I have been back to the docs as my shoulder is now next to useless and I cant move it. I can see a specialist in about 12 weeks for a consultation, and then wait about another 4 months should it need operating on. I cant work or wait that long, so Im dipping into my savings pot and seeing a private bloke on Friday. My own doc thinks they may have to open me up and re-arrange my shoulder to make it work again I forsee lots of very badly spelt RMF's, typed with my left hand while I languish after an op
  9. morning. My builders are doing the underpinning of my house foundations. It would appear my house doesnt actually have any foundations Two layers of brick on a clay floor. Its stood for 300 years so I guess they really did build em to last Wendy - hope your mam is ok. Parents are such a worry at times. Im sure its revenge for our teenage years
  10. I will be supporting Spain as I have family there. I couldnt support Argentina even if the entire Liverpool team played for them
  11. Morning. Chaos as usual here with a busy kennel day, plus a garden full of builders that my dogs would like to eat, possibly due to the awful singing going on I have to start packing upstairs away into boxes and store stuff in a neat pile this week ready for when the roof comes off and the walls are knocked through. Its going to be one hell of a mess round here for the forseable
  12. All kennel dogs are in or out so barring the non footy lovers ringing me for kennel space, I should get to see most of our game from the comfort of my desk. WKD blue over ice is also settled on my desk
  13. That is purely down to interpretation isnt it? I own a boarding kennels. A kennel here consists of an indoor run with raised bed etc and an outdoor run for each individual kennel If in this instance, a kennel means a small wooden old fashioned kennel, or a small shed with no fresh air, then I quite agree it is wrong. I would find a crate indoors as equally cruel though for any length of time
  14. I disagree with Lester. I know several people whose dogs are not settled when left alone in the house, and who have, as an alternative created a kennel and run outside that the dogs do well in. I guess its very much down to the size of the kennel and area they are confined in, and the preference of the dog.
  15. morning. Day 2 of my building work and my garden has been totally decimated. I had already checked out the bushes to make sure no nesting birds were in residence, and all was going well, till the machine dug out an old rotten tree stump. A bee nest was underneath I can only hope the queen moved on, as the bees have gone this morning. All the trouble Ive gone to, to plant a whole section of bee friendly plants and Ive buggered up the nest
  16. so very sorry. Sleep tight Tess
  17. Morning. Im glad I have no neighbours. I have woken up about 42 dogs who are all barking, my own are joining in, and I have 3 builders otuside who are about to chop down my fence and clear the garden as building work starts today. 12 weeks of chaos
  18. Cant beleive its 10 years.... makes me feel old as I remember her when she was young when I first met you all at the Windmill when I lived over there
  19. Morning. Seth has decided 7am is quite late enough for me to sleep in, and has taken to creeeping upstairs, creeping round my bed and then madeing one ruddy great 'woof' before legging back down again Im guessing I am about to change my bedtimes and routines before I go mad from lack of sleep
  20. A rather ruddy big labradoodle launched himself at the owner, who is pregnant, so I didnt dare let go, and consequently, my shoulder went with him I have knackered the abductor (?) muscle and torn the tendons inside and I cant actually move the shoulder up down or round in any way shape or form. I've been on heavy duty painkillers but they sent me a bit spaced, and after 2 weeks on them, my stomach hurts too much, so I have had to cease. Im back to being like Bagpuss again - worn out and falling apart at the seams
  21. I confess I am tempted to watch that, though not for the rugby itself, rather for the rather large and fit New Zealand blokes
  22. Morning. I quite agree Alex, Heskey is a donkey and he did bugger all while he played. I was disapointed that Capello put Gerrard back out on the left, as time and time again its not worked as he isnt free to roam. The whole team looked as though they would have prefered to be in a pub watching someone else play rather than have a game themselves. Very dissapointed. My shoulder is still in bits. When my doc suggested he sign me off for 3 weeks I laughed. I did a week in egypt last week and Ive made every effort to work lefthanded sinse I got back. Its no better so back to the docs for any alternative he can offer (though I would prefer not to have any more injections into the joint as that was a tad hurty )
  23. everything crossed for continued improvement
  24. Wheyhey.... fugee get together/party at Snows next door neighbours folks
