  1. morning. same sh1t different day... literally. im back in the cattery and kennels and true to form its pizzing down so i will be getting wet
  2. what a crappy day. my dad went into hospital this morning at 11am for an angiogram and they were going to leave a shunt? in there to help his bloodflow or summink. He couldnt eat or drink this am ready for it. at 11am they told him they would run a few tests and the procedure was scheduled for 1pm. At 1pm they told him there were 6 of them in for an angiogram so it might be a bit later than planned. At 4pm they rang my mum to tell her it could be as late as 7-8pm. FFS... he is 70, has already been thru 4 heart attacks, a triple by-pass and several angiograms, and while he isnt at doddery old man stage im sure the stress of it all wont be helping much. As a result of all of the above i have been in an intolerably bad mood and grouched at eveyrone and anyone from early this morning.
  3. morning. swapping with kennels staff... my nice warm office for the morning for one of the staff in return for me getting the morning shovellling and scrubbing cattery and kennels and dog walking. At least its not raining which makes a change as i usually swap on days with miserable weather and get drenched
  4. A customer has just collected his dog and given me chocolates for the staff and a bottle of wine for me. bless, it made me smile for the first time today
  5. finished the cat poo and rabbit poo shovelling and squeegying the kennels and running like a mad thing till 10 when i had to open up to the public. Now i think i need a big mug of coffee
  6. morning. short on staff this morning and lots of animals arriving and going home so off to shovel the cat poo and rabbit poo and try and make 2 westies smell a bit better with a quick bath. to everyone who needs them, not had time to read back
  7. morning. I woke up 20 mins before my alarm. I just hate it when that happens
  8. Glad at last someone is taking you seriously. I suffer migraines but mine appear to be more stress related rather than food related but one of my staff has terrible problems and a lot of hers are food triggered. She has to avoid chocolate, dark or milk but can eat white chocolate. Alcohol is another no no, although if she is planning a night on the ale she books 2 days off afterwards incase. She has been advised that if caught early enough, 900mg of asprin in one go may stop it completely. apparently different levels of asprin were tested on migraine sufferers and over 90% responded very well to the 900mg dose. Obviously you would need to check with your doc before trying this as it may interefere with whatever tablets they are recommending. If you want I will ask kerry my staff for the rundown on which foods trigger hers if it helps any
  9. Morning folks. Its only 10am and ive run about so much this morning due to being short staffed i feel like ive done a full days work already. only 7 hours to go
  10. morning. I have just finished shovelling cat poo and mopping and cleaning. i also just mucked out my desk as it was a tip. well to be honest it still is a tip but not quite as bad a tip In theory a quiet shift this morning which means in reality the phone wont stop, people will turn up to view and then get arsey because im full in the times you would expect a kennels to be full On the bright side, a customer brought me a box of roses chocolates which need to be eaten i think while i work.

  14. jane you are welcome to RET me too if im any use. seriously bad eyesight, one eye long sighted and poo, the other eye looks to be the same in size and everything but nothing we tried ever made me see out of it except for light and dark and vague colours. No optician ever managed to figure out why it doesnt work, but the good eye works well in all eye tests.
  15. now you have me confused already as i have no idea what halloumi or pesto is but i assume there are no dead bits in I may have to do a bit of revision before i can complete my masterplan
  16. sure why not now bear in mind you have the option of chinese, indian, pizza for your basic takaways, then you check for the thai and cantonese restaurants. While not all will deliver, most will do a better price for take out so one of you can nip into melton or asfordby and collect. then on tuesday to nip to asda and hit the veggie section ready meals and buy a large bag of baking potatoes. A few loaves of bread (some to go in the freezer for the next ' I dont want to go to asda but ive no food in' moment) and some packs of frozen qorn or however you spell the pretend chicken stuff. all very easy and organised
  17. why restrict yourselves to 3 nights in a row? dont go till tuesday and make it 5 !
  18. dream on... 2 pm any weekday when all the mums have to leave to go and collect kids from school is when asda is at its emptiest. monday morning is bad as the blue rinse brigade skip the weekend when its busy, and all piley into asda for the weekly shop. Friday morning is bad as everyone stocks up for the weekend rather than brave the weekend. The weekend is bad as its full of all the people who cant go in the week. not that i have analysed best times to visit asda you understand
  19. aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the only thing both those links have managed to do is set me off singing banana phone which wasnt even there!! somehow lions reminded me of badgers which reminded me of banana phone i think. bugger. found it for anyone who doesnt yet know it and hate it http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/badgerphone.php
  20. what a day lots of customers who, like mrs ooks customers own my soul because they are paying me. Also ladies from cocker rescue came to take ollie for his health check. the vet thinks he is nearer 10 yrs old, he has arthritis, a few rotten teeth and they dont think cocker rescue will pay for all the treatment so it looks like he will be leaving to go back to the vet to be pts Shame coz he is a lovely little dog, nice temprement, great with other dogs and kids from the way he greeted customers etc. Ive given them the oldies club details in the hope someone might be able to help them.
  21. Hectic morning for me and had the urge to be sick many times through the day. Just had an emergency call off cocker spaniel rescue and now have a little black cocker called ollie in the kennels. They have no potential homes lined up at present so i will just have to wait and see what they decide for him. Apparently he spent the first 4 years of his life locked up in a coal shed, has been rehomed a few times sinse but because of his early years, if he does too much running he gets a bit stiff so he was handed over to the rescue. I guess he just needs a slightly less active home and he will be fine poor sod. anyone want a cocker?
  22. It would help immensley thank you. Anything that can be used as a muppets guide to sage would be marvellous. So far i have installed both discs, looked at it in a kind of way and closed the programme down again thinking lots of reading and thinking and lurgy dont mix.
