  1. I can do 21st but not 28th. Does that help Billy? Ted just said to make sure that Wendy comes, not entirely sure why
  2. I think 20th is ok so yippy yippy yes pleasey
  3. Great minds Wow!! Brilliant photos. How big is Welina? Pable looks such a sweet boy The one I meant to post earlier
  4. Had a wonderful ride They've opened up the bypass so my old favourite hacking route is back, all be it via a new road system. I hadn't realised they were opening it up and I didn't think we'd be able to get up there again so with the sunshine it was a real treat. Look at that blue sky! My Dad called in so I asked him to take a picture (of Cornish) and this was the most flattering - it was this or a nice image of me mounted doing the girth up
  5. Jayne, have you ridden 'spritiful' Blue again? Does it make any difference if he's been turned out before you ride or is he just a lovable cheeky boy? How is Blue's girlfriend doing? Clare - thanks for the common sense reminder about Cornish's travelling Glad you're feeling brighter and have the farrier visit soon. £100 is definitely I pay £95 for both to be done so know it's a good pinch out of the purse but so very very very worth it! Cabbagepatch, Earl's Mum will have just been worrying about him but she clearly trusts you and so she should!! (doesn't stop it being rude though ) Hope Obe got up to no more antics and allows himself some peaceful recovery time. I've been a complete worrywart since my last post, not knowing what to do for the best, worrying about everything. I didn't make a decision until I'd spoken to Donald which I did today and I think I've come out the other side of the worry tunnel! There's no more smell and C seems to be as he was before and quite happy so I've decided to get his teeth done and leave scoping and x-rays until he shows any sign of deteriorating. Donald was a complete comfort (such a lovely man!) and told me about his own experiences and that if he was his he wouldn't put him through it based on what I'd told him but he had no objection if I wanted to go ahead and he wouldn't stop me. He really cares about C Basically the vet was talking about possible secondary sinusitis but with the tie-back ops it all gets unclear as to what might be causing what, hence the tests. If it is 2ndry sinusitis then the treatment is the drilling of a hole in the head with no guarantee of long-term success so as long as Cornish is well I'm not going to rush into anything. Riding tomorrow
  6. Sam he really is just Am so pleased for you both! Do what you feel you need to do Clare Lovely email from your YO, it makes a difference when you know that people really care about you and your horse. Cornish has to go to hospital for diagnostics and who knows what else. He's such a good natured boy and so accepting, I hang off his neck at night. I will feel awful taking him on a trip to something very unpleasant It's only a short distance away but feel really upset
  7. I only knew Lesley through the forums but feel like I've known her for years and always as someone I respected. I will always remember Lesley's warmth and sense of humour. Barry and whole family please accept my sincerest condolences on your incredible loss.
  8. Loki I suppose it could just be the squirmish which resulted in the kick but I know what you mean about being without a school. It's my one big wish and would be one of the main reasons for me to ever move. It would be a shame for you both to move though with everything else going so well, maybe give the decision a bit more time and see how the rest of the Winter goes? Very difficult decision If only we could all win lots of money and move to the same area and have a yard all of our own! Bit worried about Cornish's nose as the smell seems to be gradually reappearing. Speaking to the vet tomorrow as he has a day off so I can call him in my lunch hour. It's the thought of him going through intrusive procedures
  9. Apologies to those who've already seen it but just so true! If I Didn't Have a Dog... Or Cat...... I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety. My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated. All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture & cars would be free of hair. When the doorbell rings, it wouldn't sound like a kennel. When the doorbell rings, I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there. I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable. I would have money, & no guilt to go on a real vacation. I would not be on a first-name basis with numerous veterinarians, as I put their yet unborn grandkids through college. The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay, & leave him/her/it ALONE. My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates or barriers. My house would not look like a day care center, with toys everywhere. My pockets would not contain things like poop bags, treats and an extra leash. I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L,, F-R-I-S-B-E-E, W-A-L-K,, T-R-E-A-T,, R-I-D-E,, GO I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside. I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE dog/cat ties them down too much. I'd look forward to spring and the rainy season instead of dreading 'mud' season. I would not have to answer the question 'Why do you have so many animals?' from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get. How EMPTY my life would be!!!
  10. Amazing post You've made me smile! PS. Fee - I was trying to figure out the crops! (which I'm assuming the white object belongs to)

    Stray Cat

Since about September a stray cat has been seen on the farm, intermittently, by the farmer. I saw him/her for the first time one night in my car headlights, November time. Put food out but it wasn't really getting eaten so assumed he/she had gone then he/she appeared again on Christmas night Put more food out but turned out to be my cats eating that! Assumed, as farmer thought, that he/she was actually a visiting cat and not a stray. Had my suspicions about maybe he/she (lets say she!) was hiding in a locked barn as that's the only place that isn't open. There's about an 8inch gap under the door which is very rarely opened. It's the old cattle shed which became the stables (now the old stables)and is now just storage space. No sighting since Christmas and then by chance I saw her again tonight just as I was finishing at the stables. She didn't run off straight away like before and seemed much less stressed. As she didn't bolt I was able to see where she went - under the door and into the barn She must have been there all this time (about 5 months) which explains the lack of sightings. At least I have a definite place to put down food. Nothing from the CPL about possible owners and they don't seem to think she'd have travelled far but cats have appeared here from miles away before. Would like to see her in daylight but am just glad she seems ok I can tell she has saddleback markings now. I was going to go in the barn for something tomorrow but will leave it now!
  13. Two large dogs, hot day, a confined space, rear of a van; it's not common sense that they would get very hot with the doors shut, it's blatantly obvious. Nothing but deliberate cruelty, unless he was totally out of his senses at the time. A very loose interpretation of the term 'professional' but he's certainly lost that profession now so at least he will always be reminded.
  14. The second picture with the little child running at the bottom If those you trust tell you it's ok then that's what you'll believe, at least until you know better Is this really just a ritual, or is it a form of fishing? Not that either is acceptable

    Sunday Walkies

The boys say thank you Spring walking sounds good:) Today's camera effort managed a sum of four photos, I'm going to try modern art photography as a hobby, blurry grainy themed I finally managed to get this image after years of wishing! The bunny hop The bunny hunt The bunny hopped and hunted On a sad note, the pond there was full of dead fish after the ice
  16. It may have rained but we rode and Cornish was Mr Cool
  17. Well done Lauren and Welina!!!! (and parents in support team) Jayne loads of good wishes for Blue's girlfriend, it's an awful worry and horses very rarely appreciate what we do to in the name of helping them Hope the shavings work ok. Dengie's Alfa-A Lite is a great feed as it takes them a long time to chew: http://www.dengie.com/pages/products/alfa-a-and-hi-fi-ranges/alfa-a-lite.php Keep us posted on how she's doing.
  18. Yep! What's stressage? So pleased Loki's back to strength, good luck for the comp. next weekend (that was an attempt at mind control ) Hope you had a fun day Angel and family. Was the course nice? Missed the opportunity to ride today as it was a rare human day of haircut appointment! Cornish's back shoes are a bit loose so hoping they stay in place until farrier next Saturday. Plan is to get up and ride early tomorrow all being well. No return of smelly breath as of yet! I figured out the stressage (always been a bit slow )
  19. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!![/color]
  20. Worth a look: http://www.approvedfood.co.uk/
  21. On Monday I was talking to a friend about how I'd forgotten another friends birthday even though I'd bought the card and reminded myself weeks in advance and even set up a reminder on the pc. On Tuesday night (admittedly I was shattered) I could see the outline of a card on the windowsill and was wondering what on earth it was for because it wasn't an occasion day. On Wednesday (today!) I was in the supermarket after work and as usual looked at the greetings cards and thought, 'nope don't need any, no-body's birthday'. I was also thinking how good it was that I didn't have any special spend occasions for the rest of Jan. I come home on Wednesday and see my brother had dropped off a card and present for my Dad. I then realise what the card was for - it was his birthday on Tuesday (yesterday). Dash to the supermarket again and they didn't even have any birthday cakes left! I have never forgotten their birthdays in my life - until today I'm ashamed.
