I dont currently have my own dogs.......altho OH family do and we with in their top floor!!! this bis good for time being as i miss dogs so so much but knwo wth my injuries and bad health i couldnt do daily walking etc but at the moment when i feel up to a lil wander i can borrow theres! But i do dearly miss my own dog big time and with movig to states i know i cant have any till 2011 its such a horrid feelin knowing i cant have my own dogs again for years but i know that part of me will feel tied down the minute i get one!!!!! but this feeling of not having one is much worse!!!

this is the thing that does worry me with moving to states and how different animal rescue will be there!!!! *look out for me on houston animal cops ;)

michelle its a really tough time at the mo.....OH has 2 night shifts a week and thats all we have but im little bit happy now coz scan date is next wed as they had cancellation!!!! yippeee!!!! only a week of being off my feet will be boring!!! boooooo

Anyone here medically type ppl.....im a little stuck and dont knw what to do! Got on going problem with knee from car crash last yr and have eventually been diagnosed..... i have a problem with ligaments not being flexable enough and the other problem whcih has been hiding and making complications is a cartilage tear on bottom of femur on inside side of knee.... so im waiting for an MRI date to get scan and still have wekly physio for ligaments... anyway monday night i twisted funny getting up off the floor and after howling for some time checked it over and it was rather puffy so iced it and rested... problem was that something felt like it went/pulled right in were i have the cartilage problem. I couldnt weigh bare yesterday at all and today i can a little bit but very sore still. Keep getting shooting pains across knee cap and the side. Problem is......its already exsisting problem so dont want to waste time with walk in cenre or a&e and its not an emeregency but i dont want to wait to physio whihc is next wednesday (or im at doctors on friday but he aint very good) but somethig feels very different to the normal pain i have and something deffo felt like it 'went' plus pain killers aint touching it and cant relax! ......... but i hate ppl who go walk ins etc with stupid reasons.... ellppppp

I love it!!! We went manchester last night and it was a blizzard all afternoon....but lovely and quiet!!! then back home today and its nice and crisp everywhere!!! love it love it love it!!!!! we apparently got more coming before weekend is out yahhoo

i came in before and it was just cold outside i just went to get a drink and glanced out the window to a completely white street!!! im well confused how it all of a sudden snowed so heavy and it aint lifting!!!! which is very cool and exciting,,,,,and i love walking round park in snow........BUT 1) not on crutches 2) OH is taking me away tomorrow for a night away in manchester (i know not exciting but we are poor and its cheap on train) so now i dont wanna go coz want to play ike kid in snow!!!!

Honestly this woman is amazing and will take on so many who are on last legs and they just go on and on to new leases of life!!!!

So we are moving to texas this year .....(supposed to be may but will prob be a little later now as waiting on knee surgery etc) anyway OH has a job there with a charity and part employeed by a church aswell....... but they have yet to set in stone where we were going but we thought we were going east texas........ but things may of changed and looks like instead of small town we may be going to the huge city of san antonio!!! I had already done lots of looking into east texas and now need to do a lot of new research.... BUT it is a much better church and position!!! So has anyone ever been and did they like it.....or not....???? oh and they have what looks like an anazing branch of the spca .... http://www.humanesocietyspca.org/

I didnt like the shcok collar show (farm one)......but i didnt know what other options he had he didnt leave it with them and only shocked dog twice!!! but thats still aint good and i aint saying its right....but its a very hard call!!!! I saw one older couple who had pronged collar on dobie .........he said he wouldnt normally use them but owner wanted to use them and he went with what they were using for continuity........like you said a good trainer would say no ....you should use XYZ......... but we dont know what they say off screen and camera can just show what it wants!!! But i wish i knew a pack that good and solid as his as there are many a dog i know (one being in this house) who doesnt knwo how to greet dogs ect but if i know he would just melt into a pack and 'get it' which is something we as humans can nevere teach i dont think!!

thats brilliant wendy!!!! hope they get it sorted merle.......MOT's are a right pain!!! friend broke down today so had to drive for first time in a while but not going to be doing that again for a while hope everyone is ok!!!

i worked in care place and we had a cat......which was fine until you get new workers who didnt like animals and i would sometimes find cat been shut out as didnt like it (this quickly chanegd dont worry) They did talk about wanting a dog in the home next door. (4ppl with learning diff lived in shared house and 4 carers lived there too) Problem again was that not all staff would want dog and you couldnt take account for staff in the future. Think it depends on the level of disability and staff.......they would all have to agree together that they would help her bwith dog as technically they only have to support her (altho some would argue that its part of her life) could she start wlaking as vol at local centre to see how get on and maybe do vol stuff at kennels......we used ot have ppl up quite a bit at dogs trust walking grooming and feeding to learn routine etc
