  1. She really was in heaven. I'm just looking at the required clothing etc now. My pockets are going to need to be bottomless i think The instructor was lovely and was really impressed with her. She said she a pure eagerness about her that was wonderful. We had a wonderful conversation while i was peeling the potatoes for tea last night. Holly: Mummy, if you've got enough pennies can i please have a horsie for my birthday? *sweetest grin and puppy eyes* Me: I don't think we can afford one darling. They need lots of looking after, a stable, a field, food, and lots of other things. Holly *after thinking for a few seconds* Ok, so, can i have a pony instead then???
  2. My 5 year old Holly has been desperate to start horse riding since she was a toddler. We had to wait until she was five for insurance purposes at the riding school. She was booked in for sunday and had been beside herself with excitement all week. She had real trouble sleeping saturday she was so excited. Adjusting her stirrups. Showing her how to hold the reins. Just before setting off. This huge grin stayed on her face for the entire lesson and the remainder of the day Going round. She kept asking them if they were going to go faster. By the end of the lesson she was making a good effort at rising trot. She absolutely adored her pony who was called Lilly. She said thankyou to her when she got off and gave her an apple. I've never seen her enjoy anything as much as she enjoyed this. The pure joy on her little face. It made me a bit teary to see her so happy. Needless to say this is now a weekly booking and Holly would like a horse for her birthday.
  3. She's beautiful.
  4. Go peacefully bumpy jake. You're taking a little piece of everyone here with you.
  5. Bumpy Jake. I remember when your mummy was first coming to see you, when she first brought you home, your first thread. You've won so many hearts over the years with your bumping, your smiles and sometimes your dimness You've brought so much joy to a lot of people bumpy, but no-one more than your mummy. We're sending you both all our love and thoughts, and hoping you have a peaceful night back at home where you belong.
  6. I'm thinking of you both. I'm so sorry.
  7. She's gorgeous. My mum has two westies. Jenna is 12 now and misty is 7. They're fubulous little dogs.
  8. This is what Ozzy has. At 8 weeks old he weighed 10 kilo's. He's not a year old yet and now weighs 53 kilo's. He's huge. He had an intermittent limp and yelping. He had x rays which my vet referred to an ortho specialist as he had 'concerns'. (scared us to death after Ice) The ortho has put it down to growing pains. They wanted to x ray his hips as well but, after Ice, i don't want to know. I'm listening to Ozzy. I know when he's had enough or too little. I haven't let any of my shepherds up and down the stairs. They don't need to be up there. The only time Ozzy goes upstairs is for a bath. So, he now refuses to go up them at all. No amount of bribery gets him up there now as he know what's coming. He's too big to get on the sofa anyway but, i wouldn't let him jump up or down. He's been on restricted exercise 2x15 minute on lead walks a day and to be honest he could do to loose a few kilo's but, until i get the all clear from the vet, his exercise will stay as it is. He does get an offlead run once a week though. Hydrothrapy is good too. Ozzy has pilchard's or sardines in his meal twice a day. Oily fish is good for them. He also has glucosamine and chondroitin capsules. I get them from the chemist they're so much cheaper. I just split them and sprinkle the powder on his food. He also has a cod liver oil capsule as well. My thoughts are if i do this now, it may stand him in good stead for his later years. I'm under no illusions with him though, with his weight and size we're definately in for trouble with his joints as he gets older but, hopefully we'll get a bit longer with him than we did Ice. I hope you can get something sorted for your little man. I would definately be back at the vets with any concerns though.
  9. Sparkle, you're fab Hope everyone is ok. Please take as appropriate.
  10. Enernink :wavey :sarah: For Boo. @Kathy. I've got one of these too I wasn't very impressed when i tried to hoover my stairs. It doesn't reach all the way up
  11. Josie is one of the loud ones. She's very vocal. She likes to dangle off your hair, chew your slippers while your feet are in them, pinch anything off the floor and scarper with it, and she sits right in front of you barking when she wants a cuddle She's like a rocket when she goes. She certainly keep me on my toes.
  12. They're all neapolitan. And asleep!!! I am Not tasting 5 different puppies, no matter how much i love you all Pudding making sure no-onecan get in the food bowl Jade is the biggest of them all but, she's very sweet. She too likes to snuggle, and she likes to play tug of war with your trouser legs
  13. Pudding is the small scaredy one, but, she is also very amusing without trying. I get t he feeling she is going to be very cheeky. But, she loves to be snuggled. As for flavour, I'm thinking neapolitan. Mum was a cross breed but she looked like a staff x to me. They have no idea who or what dad was.
  14. Not sure what to say to that really but, i'm thinking of you both.
  15. ok Here goes. L-R are Pudding, Meggi-moo, Lexi, Jade and Josie.
