  1. Wendy I wouldn't have recognised you if I had passed you in the street today! You look completely different. I gained about a stone at the beginning of the year for no reason other than eating rubbish and not exercising. I've lost half of that slowly and gradually since June. If I don't shift the other half then it's ok. I'm not necessarily concerned with weight, it is fitness that I am worried about. Even though I am small, what there is of me is high in body fat, flabby not toned, so I need to eat less chocs and exercise more in order to lower my body fat back into the healthy range (it used to be about 19% but now it is nearer 30% which isn't healthy at all).
  2. I'm so unbelievably bored. I'm climbing the walls. I really don't like Christmas. I find it so boring... just people sitting around filling their faces and watching crap telly. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

  6. Dread to think about the consequences of having two unneutered siblings kept in the same house
  7. Me too and not just for that reason. I'm guessing one of these people will get bored soon anyway and want rid and I'm worried they might sell the dog on. Even if they did give it up, what rescue can take in a staffie pup at Christmas? As for the other dog well, this one is better trained and owner has had dogs before but there is a baby on the way so I think there may come a point where they can't/don't want to keep it. I'm more worried about the other one. Owner doesn't actually live in the house where the dog is staying and thinks he can make a quick fortune by mating her. I've been spewing about it all day. Happened to see the pups shut out playing in the garden in the freezing cold so I asked where they had come from etc...
  8. They are in a home. They are not mine hence no photos sorry. Two people kind of bunk in the same house (which belongs to a friend). They both bought pups from someone (from the same litter) so now these two pups are living together in the same place. One is trained and one isn't. It is quite a complicated situation. Of course the owner of the bitch wants one litter to sell on
  9. Hello Is it normal for two 14 week staffie pups (one dog and one bitch) to play almost constantly and so hard that they draw blood? Also if one of said pups is very thin in the belly area but looks temporarily full just after eating, would that indicate worms? Thanks
  10. Updated to add this dog is now listed on Dog Lost, inc contact phone no's LINK

  12. OH has his head down the loo (don't feel sorry for him - it is because he got pizzed) We can't drive anywhere because IKEA is opening here today and the roads are going to be full.
  13. I fancied his brother when I was 11 I still have photos here of him at a show. I was on the 3rd row. Donnie was waving his toothbrush.
  14. I'm not reading anything. Just finished Toast and Eating for England by Nigel Slater. I don't often read - especially not fiction.
  15. I can't remember where I saw the figures now, but a couple of years ago I did see some (from the book of pledges or something like that) and I think that money given to greyhound racing was more than schools or health. (I will try to find it again)
  16. I am posting this on behalf of someone else with their permission. (I may be able to add phone number later - in the mean time please PM me if you have any news about this dog) 'GERMAN SHORT HAIRED POINTER BITCH – 6 years old Has splashing of white on the chest and muzzle, tail docked with no hair on the tip, brown leather collar with boned shaped tag, with name and mobile number, she is also micro chipped Missing since Wed 12th Dec 4.30pm on the B4114, just out side Sharnford' Thanks
  17. I'm getting a Christmas foster visitor for a week. I don't even know what she looks like yet so no photo sorry.
  18. We found it very hard. Our third dog was a very difficult one and wasn't what we expected at all - so our experience was probably not very typical. It took nearly 2 years for her to settle down, stop eating our house and actually go to sleep at night. She still can't walk on a lead properly and lunges at other dogs when she is in a pack. Our house was very quiet before she arrived and our two sleepy greyhounds would lie together quite happily. There is more tension now. They can get snarly if one touches the other or lies too close to their spot on the settee. Took her to a training club a couple of times and she was so petrified she clung to a wall and wouldn't move until all the other dogs had gone home. It made a difference practically too. I can't safely walk 3 dogs alone so I either do two lots of walking or I have to wait for OH to do the walking with me.

  22. I don't have people who only come round at Christmas and expect a present. That might be because it isn't worth being mugged by Mona, gassed by Roar-ee and spending an hour getting the dog hairs off their Christmas sweater? I do get given lots of things that are so totally not me. Things that people can't possibly have thought about for a second, for example leather stuff and Loreal These things also end up in the charity shop - the local RSPCA one. At least then animals get something back for it.
  23. I had Mona insured with them last year because it was £10 with no excess. We didn't make any claims at all but they still doubled it at renewal time. So I moved her elsewhere. If I were still with M&S I'd join you all in writing. Sounds completely ridiculous.
