  6. Max and Molly are still looking for a home together, they desperately need somewhere to call their own. They are such an affectionate pair we truly hope they will find that special home very soon!
  7. Coco @ ESSW Age: 3 Sex: Male Location: Cornwall Can be re-homed with children: No Can be re-homed with cats: Unknown Can be re-homed with dogs: Yes Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yees Tail: 3/4 Dock Coco was not well socialised in his puppy home. He developed lots of habits associated with frustration, such as guarding toys, shadow chasing and possible fear aggression. Although he has been in a new home for a year, he has continued to have these habits laying dormant, and occassionally rearing to the surface. On the plus side he is a highly energetic dog outside- has good recall and general obedience, and gets on really well with other dogs. He adores the outdoor life. Indoors he can be really affectionate, but he still has not really learned how to calm down and relax. More importantly, he is still learning that humans are not to be feared. His foster mum is working hard on this at present with the ongoing help and support of a behaviourist, who has met him. We all feel Coco is a wonderful dog who deserves a chance to live a normal, happy springer life, but he is not a first time owner's springer. This dog would be like buying a Ferrari having just passed your driving test! Sparky is looking for a home where he can have another very lively springer for company, with owners who are prepared to put a lot of work in to his ongoing rehabilitation, and teach him lots of new things also. He has been to agility and seems to have enjoyed this. He is very intellegent and mischievous. He has never shown any fear or aggression towards another dog or children, but is obviously not suitable to be rehomed in a family who have children of any age. If you think you might be interested in rehoming this live wire please complete the adoption form here: http://www.essw.co.uk/#/how-to-adopt/4531487733 You can find more information on Coco, as well as his Co-Ordinator details here: http://www.essw.co.uk/#/coco-selina-14710/4542383962
  8. KatieKoo from ST here, I can help in the South Bristol area, guessing places like PAH, Jolleyes etc? Not free an awful lot weekends but may be able to do mid week...
  9. Sorry, so as not to confuse, the title of this post should have read Meagan @ ESSW, not Meg, Meg is a completely different dog!
  10. Meagan @ ESSW Age: Approx 6-7 Sex: Female Location: Wiltshire Can be re-homed with children: Yes (older children) Can be re-homed with cats: Yes Can be re-homed with dogs: Yes Neutered: Unknown Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Unknown Tail: Full Dock We don't know very much about Meagan at the moment, apart from that she is a very happy girl who has had a rough time. She came to us from the Pound which is why we aren't sure if she has been spayed and this is why she can't go with any entire male dogs. She was dirty and matted but after some TLC is now gleaming! Meagan doesn't know how to play with toys so needs someone to show her how much fun they can be and to discourage her from playing with stones and sticks when on walks. We'd love it if she could be rehomed with another dog as she loves their company. She already has good recall. We think Meagan would benefit from having someone around most of the time as she can cry if left for long periods. If you think you might be able to offer the lovely Meagan a forever home please complete the adoption application form at: http://www.englishspringerwelfare.co.uk/#/how-to-adopt/4531487733. You can see more information on Meagan on the ESSW website at: http://www.englishspringerwelfare.co.uk/#/meagan-selina-6610/4542152282
  11. Max & Molly Dogs Names - Max & Molly Age - Max is 9 years and Molly is 10 years Location - St Albans Childen - No (See Below) Dogs - Must be re-homed together Cats - No Neutered - Yes Vacinated - No Microchipped - Yes Tail - Molly is long and Max is fully docked Max & Molly are two wonderful springers that are full of energy and love to play games. Molly is a little nervous when you first meet her but as soon as she feels safe she is relaxed and looking for cuddles. Both Max and Molly love affection and lots of cuddles and don't be fooled by their ages, you would think they were still puppies by their playfulness although they are very settled in the house. It is with deep regret that the previous owner is having to rehome this wonderful pair, but ill health means that it has become necessary. Max & Molly must be re-homed together as they are inseparable and are looking for a retired couple with a quiet home that can give them lots of love, cuddles and countryside walks. Because of her nervousness with new people, Molly would not be happy living in a busy household where there are lots of visitors or children coming and going. If you think you may be able to offer Max and Molly a forever home, please complete the adoption forms here: http://www.englishspringerwelfare.co.uk/#/...dopt/4531487733
  12. Meg @ ESSW Age: 12 Sex: Female Location: Essex Can be re-homed with children: Yes, sensible aged 12+ Can be re-homed with cats: unknown Can be re-homed with dogs: Yes, prefers male dogs Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Tail: Long Meg was rescued by the RSPCA when she was just 3 and was adopted by her owner who thinks she may have been beaten. Unfortunately her owner has recently passed away and Meg now needs an experienced forever home who can give her the love and understanding she needs to help her through the upheaval she faces. Meg is a bit of a flirt, she likes boys the best (dogs and humans!), although she gets on well with everyone and enjoys fussing. She can be easily spooked, possibly a throw back to her early life and therefore needs a safe place to retire to if she feels threatened, a covered crate would be ideal. She will react badly if anyone tries to grab her collar or drag her which is why we would prefer her to go to a home where any children are aged 12+ and sensible around dogs. She loves her chews and rolls onto her back to enjoy them just like a pup. Meg does suffers with a little separation anxiety, so would be best where her owner is home most of the day and where there is another dog to keep her company. Even at her age, Meg loves to swim, so an experienced and understanding retirement home willing to take her on plenty of swimming trips would be just what she is looking for. She needs someone who can be patient enough to let her settle in at her own pace, after all, she's been through a lot. If you think you might be able to offer the lovely Meg a forever home please complete the adoption application form at: http://www.englishspringerwelfare.co.uk/#/how-to-adopt/4531487733. You can see more information on Meg on the ESSW website at: http://www.essw.co.uk/#/meg-izzie-26610/4542017516
  13. Flossie went to her new home today, all at ESSW wish her well
  14. Scooby has just gone to his new family, this thread can happily now be closed!
  15. The lovely Scooby has visitors this weekend, please keep everything crossed, they are driving 2 and a half hours to meet him and even staying over. If they like him they may take him home on Saturday...
  16. I've transported a few oldies, and I've fallen in love with each one, how can you fail to feel for the old souls who have sometimes been cast out by their families when they may only have a few months left :(and every one has been lovely and gentle. Thanks for introducing me to the world of the Oldie
  17. Flossie is under offer of a new home, just waiting for the potential new owners to have a chat with the assessor to find out more details and then fingers crossed they will go to visit her :-)
  18. Madness, seems a prerequisite when using forums! Especially dog forums! Have posted 2 ESSW dogs, hope we can find them lovely forever homes soon! xx
  19. Flossie @ ESSW Age: 8 Sex: Female Location: Nr Newbury, Bucks Can be re-homed with children: Yes Can be re-homed with cats: Untested Can be re-homed with dogs: Yes Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes - up to date Microchipped: Yes Tail: Half dock Flossie is an adorable dog. She just needs the right home to show her how much fun life can be! Flossie has been through a lot of changes recently and the other dog in her current home is very jealous of Flossie which is making her quite sad and depressed. She walks well on her gentle leader and desperately wants to play with other dogs but unfortunately does not appear to have been socialised much with them. For this reason we feel she would really benefit from another dog at home to show her what fun there is to be had! She has fair recall and asks for very little in life. Currently she is a little overweight, but the right diet and lots of fun walks will soon sort this out. Flossie is housetrained. Flossie is going to make the right people a wonderful and rewarding pet, and we feel she would be suited to an older couple who have lots of time to spend with her to help bring her out of herself. She is placid, calm and laid back but pleased to meet new people. If you think you can offer Flossie her new forever home please complete the application to adopt at http://www.englishspringerwelfare.co.uk/#/how-to-adopt/4531487733. Flossie can be found on the ESSW website here: http://www.englishspringerwelfare.co.uk/#/flossie-berks-25510/4541277714
  20. I'm sure I could find it somewhere, but what does RMF stand for?? Sat here feeling sorry for myself as have impaled foot on spike of metal on way to take dogs out, OUCH!!!! Little bit of shock and a few tears later starting to feel a little better, not looking forward to OH applying the savlon tho!
  21. Hunny, remember you asked your boss for help, and that help was not forthcoming. I take it you have copies of emails etc? You explained why you were feeling under added pressure and you asked for that to be taken into account, you could actually turn this around and let you boss know that you (in the nicest possible way ) hold him partly responsible for your performance issues... Let him know you were willing to work it through and he just has to meet you half way, and that you are still prepared to do this. Bosses have a duty of care to their employees, and he ought to have recognised signs of stress and dealt with it appropriately, so this isn't all down to you. Good luck for Tuesday, it probably is best to get it over with, but take lots of notes of what points you want to make, and ensure you get a copy of the 'minutes', which need to be agreed by all parties. (it's KatieKoo by the way... xx)
  22. We've been to Hele Barton Farm regularly for the past 3 years, as have family members and other doggy friends. Rachel Chapman runs the cottage side of the operation, whilst her Husband Pete mainly looks after the working farm. There are 5 resident dogs and guests dogs are made very welcome! I personally can't recommend it highly enough! www.helebarton.co.uk Kate xx
  23. I'm finding the Sookie books hard going after the Twilight lot, think I'll stick to the TV show... Or maybe I just need to be in a different frame of mind?
  24. Scooby @ ESSW Age: 4 1/2 years Sex: Male Location: Bristol Can be re-homed with children: No Can be re-homed with cats: No Can be re-homed with dogs: Yes (see below) Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Puppy Vacs only Microchipped: No Tail: Half dock Scooby has come to ESSW through no fault of his own, his mum has made the hard decision to part with him because she felt she wasn't able to give him the time and attention he deserves. Because of this he has put on lots of weight and needs a home that can commit to his weight loss programme as well as gently increasing his exercise levels to get him back to his ideal size. He is best re-homed without cats, as he tends to chase, and also where children are older sensible teenagers who are used to dogs. As he has lacked continued training an experienced doggy home would be great. Scooby can show some aggression when approached by new people for the first time but we are sure this is just fear based, he responds really well if ignored and left to approach you as this seems to give him more confidence. His foster family are working on this and he is coming along well. He is a huge cuddle monster with his foster mum and dad too and gets on really well with their two resident bitches, so we think a home with resident female dogs would be good for Scooby to enable him to continue his socialisation. Scooby loves being brushed and adores swimming! He responds well to training using a tennis ball as a reward. If you think you can give Scooby a home, please complete the registration form at www.englishspringerspanielwelfare.co.uk and contact the local co-ordinator.
