We regularly do outdoor car boots to raise money for our Cat Rescue group. We have lots of clothes that are donated so in varying condition and people do not want to pay much for them. You can always start off higher and gage the reaction of buyers then reduce the price if necessary. I think a lot depends on the condition of the clothes ours is not the best!

Poor Milo hope his cuts heal quickly. Gooster you sound very proud of Blue, glad you had a lovely hack. Fingers crossed for good weather on Sunday. I'm looking forward to my lesson tomorrow evening.

What a lovely picture, that jump looks like bechers brook! I've just come back from my lesson on Danny, not my favourite horse but he's ok. Towards the end of the lesson which was all flat work 2 of us (there were 3 in the lesson) did a walk to canter transition and my second one felt really good, nice to finish on a high.

That's how I feel too I don't always have anything constructive to say. I must admit I thought 'oooh' when I read the original comment as this could (and possibly does) apply to me. I think it also depends on how familiar you are with forums and social networking etc. there is an etiquette involved.

My lessons vary depending on which riding centre I'm at and which horse/pony I'm riding. On Wednesday evening I ride at a school further away but the teaching is more advanced with better horses for adults. We do mainly flat work here, just started using the outdoor school as the evenings are lighter. On Thursday afternoon I ride at the local centre which caters more for children and there doesn't seem to be an ongoing plan to the lessons, we sometimes go for a hack (I prefer lessons) but I have done a few small jumps here and quite enjoyed it. It's not so easy to do the more advanced flatwork on the little ponies. What is meant by 'light seat' I haven't heard that term before?

Now in the correct thread . Willow didn't look too bad for her age although I was told that a few weeks ago she had lost weight and has only just put it back on in the last few weeks. She doesn't do school work now only hacking. I have my next lesson back home on Wednesday. I go to two different riding schools and the Wednesday one caters more for children but is nearby in my village, so from a 16h horse I shall probably go to a pony. Variety is the spice of life.

We have just returned from a week at this bungalow it sleeps 4, 1double and 1 twin. It has enclosed garden for the dogs (they allow 3 dogs) and the gate opens onto a footpath which leads to a field and woods behind the bungalow which is also owned by the owner of the bungalow. I understand the footpath ultimately leads to the village itself but it was too far for Tag to walk. There was no livestock about but it is still early in the season. There are stunning views of the Teign estuary and the sea beyond. We booked through Cottages4you (and Easy Fundraising so Oldies benefitted too) the bungalow is called Little Hatch ref.HMG. Part of the view. The bungalow is the white building to the left and the big house is the owners house. The bungalow and garden. The timber building to the left is a games room with table tennis, table football and darts for rainy days.

I intended this to be in the horse thread but it went a bit wrong!

I haven't posted in this thread before but I enjoy reading it. I ride redularly but don't have my own horse. OH and I have just returned from a week in Devon where I had two hacks on Willow, my jaw nearly dropped to the floor when they brought her out from the stable. She is a 16 hand plus thoroughbred who used to be an event horse (bless her she is 24 years old now so quite calm!) she still has some life in her though. I loved riding her and could have brought her home but I don't think she would fit in the boot LOL! I thought you may enjoy her pictures.

We have just returned from a week at Bishopsteignton, Devon. Lovely relaxing time and great cottage I'll post details in the Dog Friendly thread. I'm afraid we don't go in for high activity shots LOL!

I had an email yesterday from the Inland Revenue saying I'm due a tax refund (no I'm NOT).

Thanks Elaine it has been very rewarding to see Cassie change from a closed down old lady to a cheeky characterful monkey! The house seems very quiet now and we get things done in half the time! I hope she will have many happy years with her new mum who said she felt very proud to have been chosen for Cassie.

No it didn't, I think the lady didn't get her application in before the notice to close went up. But we are keeping our eyes open for something similar for her.

Cassie has some VERY special visitors tomorrow, she's getting a little nervous!!
