  1. What a nightmare Marian. I wish you could pinch yourself and find it had been a horrid dream and all was actually going well Sorry. Glad all is OK with your bloods for Nick. Hope hes better soon.
  2. Why can't people shut bl00dy doors after themselves, instead of leaving them open so dogs who don't get on with each other end up fighting!!!
  3. If he sat still long enough I would! Hes decided play time is every waking moment and that Pheobe is the one who should really be playing tuggy with him! Pheobe has other ideas I'll give him a big wet sloppy snog and a chin tickle from his Aunty Claz
  4. Happy gotcha day gorgeous Zara What a brave and selfless act Cheryl
  5. Well, Morty. One year ago today we were up at White Lodge signing for you. Who'd have thought it! Well, just about everyone really. He was only meant to be a christmas foster, but he snuck into our lives and planted his big feet firmly under the table What laughs you give us every day. The faces you pull and the positions you sit in, make me smile just thinking about them. You really are a great big loveable lumox and we love having you as part of our family HAPPY GOTCHA DAY MY BEAUTIFUL BOY
  6. Another years gone by Amy and I know you're watching us from the Bridge, waiting for that day when we will all be reunited again. I hope you're having fun, you beautiful, gentle girl. Missing you still, always in my heart
  7. So very sorry for your loss Heather. He truly was a gorgeous lad Run free from pain at the bridge King
  8. Such sad news - so very sorry Run free, happy and forever young at the bridge Jim
  9. Thanks Anne Ruby is indeed a dog and I'm sure she doesn't realise we forgot at all! Sorry to hear this Alison. I love going to Crufts because of the agility and the stalls, not because of the showing, which I hate. I feel a bit hypocritcal, but I don't look at the showing at all because I feel sorry for the dogs (I know some dogs enjoy it, but the majority look plain bored and its very clicky clicky!). Remember 1 thing - you only get one mum
  10. Well you might have jarred said broken little finger and that would've been painful!
  11. Maybe its not broken then, as it did have a little bruise on it, but that soon disappeared It feels very 'tight' if I try to bend it (its the first bend in the finger, not the main second one, which is why its not too dibilitating (sp?)), as if its swollen, but it doesn't look swollen (I cant even take a photo for the manky parts thread 'cause its not manky looking )
  12. I was crushing tins with a huge lump hammer and managed to crush the tin with my finger still in it. There isn't anything they can do for a finger, even if its broken, which is why I haven't gone to get it checked. I suppose I should just strap it to the middle finger and leave it? Sending lots of healing thoughts for Baz's uncle. Hope he gets better soon Big hugs and positive thoughts for Molly What a miserable day. Took my lot out for a quick walk in the drizzle and came back to play games with them. Annie and Morty love to play with each other, whilst Ruby sits on the settee watching with her paws crossed (I think its a bit too much like hard work for Ruby to join in! ) All fast asleep now. RF (not mundane!): Am I a bad mum? It was Rubys birthday on Thursday and I didn't remember until last night I think its because it is so close to the anniversary of losing Amy (tomorrow), which still makes me want to weep now Although, on a happier note, tomorrow is also the first anniversary of adopting Mortimer - can't believe: a) He has been officially ours for a year (Happy gotcha day gorgeous boy ) b) Ruby is now 7 (happy birthday gorgeous girl ) c) Amy has been gone for 2 years d) Its nearly been 2 years since we got Annie e) Its been 9 years since we got Lucy Gosh a lot has happened in Jan/Feb over the years. Just need the house to sell now!
  13. Glad to hear Bow is OK RMQ: Can you have a broken finger and still be able to use it/bend it, albeit painfully (and only get so far in bending it before it hurts too much)?
  14. In-laws are back off holiday and peace and quiet has well and truly gone!
  15. We brought that for a friend at Christmas, hoping it wasn't his thing so we could have it back Unfortunately he loved it. Got to wait for him to read it now before we borrow it Also read, over christmas, Ellen MacArthur's autobiography. She is one hell of an inspiration and a great writer. What a fab book and what a fab woman!
  16. and to also explain to stoopid Munsterlander that licking off said vaseline as soon as its put on your nose doesn't help and means more vaseline will be applied
  17. I've read Book of the Dead and also thought it was excellent. I also like the Alex Delaware stories and have read a number of them - excellent books. Have just finished Maeve Binchy's latest one, This Year it will be Different - not bad, but a bit 'same short story told in different ways using different characters' type of book Have also read recently The Bad Dogs Diary which, if you don't think about the stereotyping within the book, is quite entertaining
  18. Thinking positive, good thoughts for Bow and Grandma Squiggs Agility has been cancelled for the second week in a row We've stopped the indoor sessions for a couple of weeks because kennel cough was rife and we didn't want it spreading, but because the weather has been so fowl and we can't get indoors at the weekend for the last couple of weeks, we've been waterlogged Getting withdrawal symptoms RMF: Think I'm getting a cold. I think its just a bog standard cold and not the lurgy, but have had a good dose of Malt Whiskey tonight to be on the safe side

    King

So very sorry to read your sad news
  20. We have the hoop air kong. Annie the lurcher loves chasing after it over the fields We used to have one of the tampons, but silly mummy through it, let go at the wrong moment and it flew off into the corn field - Oops
  21. Sorry if I appeared like a bit of a mad person, but Annie can be so unpredictable, like she was today by being so well behaved! My reactions don't help her, but I am learning (slowly!) Maybe on the next walk we can actually have a chat, instead of just a hello and goodbye
  22. Its taken me a couple of days to pluck up the courage to look at the picture and words have failed me. Sarah, you are so brave for going in to rescue this gorgeous girl, I have so much admiration and respect for you. However, as others have said, please be careful. I know you know what you're doing, but take care
  23. I always end up at the back of White Lodge walks, bringing up the rear! So apologies for not really talking to too many people today (apart from Chris - Yeti - who kept us company). All the dogs were really well behaved (even if I panicked slightly when off lead collie came to say hello and snuffle for treats - if he was Teddy, Reds, he is a gorgeous boy! ). Unfortunately Annie doesn't 'do' Collies and normally gets very excited and wants to have a full on chomping session. However, she was very well behaved today and I put the 'look at me' command to good use It was really nice to see everyone and to have a chat with Jill, the new White Lodge owner, who looks as though she's going to be taking on some greyhound rescue dogs in the near future - hooray Ruby would also like to thank Leicslass for making fantastic tassels. She loves her new red ones edited to add that Cherry was gorgeously mucky and I was glad she wasn't in the back of my car! lol
  24. Hi All, tis been a lovely day here. Very cold but dry. In-laws have gone away for a week to the Peak District and taken their 2 boys and our little Lucy with them. Bliss - peace and quiet for a whole week Hubbys been at work all day, so me and my lot have just been cuddled on the settee watching Beaches. Annie was very worried about me when I started crying at the end. Bless her. I do love that film
