  1. What is the name of the drops you are using Suzeanna? Had some sad news today, the lady who took in Walter and Jessie's mum as a pregnant stray has died. She had a bad reaction to some new tablets a couple of weeks ago and her heart stopped. She never regained consciousness and passed away today She was a lovely, genuine lady who truly cared about her family and animals. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have my two crazy loons in my life.
  2. I got trapped in my car at the gym last night It was absolutely battering down, the road was flooded and I only had my converse on It was like a scene from the end of the world Suzeanna - Candy sounds like a darling - you aren't being disloyal to Rosie at all. All dogs are different, they all have their own quirks and naughty habits Had a pretty easy day at work today - only worked 10.30-4.30 and had a few spaces Had to stop at the Audi garage and pick up a parcel shelf for my car (he didn't have one). Glad I was training in wythenshawe though, the traffic going towards home from Stockport was at a standstill (and actually queued all the way back to Wythenshawe park where I train!). Had a really good session today, feel like I'm finally making progress
  3. Well I've collected my new car, dad had a trip out in the R8 and my hair is now short and tidy again Good day all round. Surprisingly I didn't cry when I said goodbye to Ana. I really thought I would, but I felt surprisingly ok. She's going to make someone else very happy Good news about your new addition Suzeanna How is your OH's eye now?
  4. I'll pick some of that up. The last black car I had was a bugger to keep clean
  5. This is my new baby Just emptied Ana - I have kept her pretty tidy, so there wasn't much crap to get out of her. This is the R8 that we have all had a spin in Glad you are feeling ok after your beer - I had wine last night. My head is a bit fuzzy this morning enjoy your haircut - mine is being done today too - it's grown loads since it was last done - can't wait to get it tidied up again
  6. Get looking for a new job Alex - life's too short. I'm loving my new job. I feel absolutely knackered when I get home, but the days are flying by. Can't wait to get stuck in properly Am picking my new car up tomorrow, it's bittersweet. Am going to be upset to say goodbye to Ana - she is the best car I've ever had, but I've had to put my sensible head on and get a sensible car. Not sure if my new car is a boy or a girl yet. I drove it yesterday, I was bricking it as I haven't driven a manual for over 2 years. I only called one other driver a d*ckhead on the test drive, didn't stall or crash it and managed to reverse into a parking space between 2 brand new Audis, so I think I did well The salesman is taking dad out for a spin in the R8 tomorrow, so I think dad will have a good day
  7. It might be ocular migraine if they come and go. Is it like you are looking through a kalidescope? Do you wear glasses for close stuff? It's possibly worth getting another eye test if you feel your vision is worse with glasses on.
  8. Jazz, have you had an eye test recently? You might just need reading glasses. First day went well, I was home for 4.30 Just all induction stuff. Tomorrow is when stuff starts to get real. Watching surgery and post op clinics tomorrow. I get a work phone too. Hope it's an iPhone, don't want to get used to a different type of phone
  9. Morning all - sorry I've been absent for a few days. Been a bit busy Have bought a new car I hit a monster pothole in Ana last weekend, it tore the cover underneath her and also but a big dent in the sill (?). I was doing about 2mph at the time. The passenger in my car couldn't believe the crunch that happened from hitting it that slowly. Anyway, Ana has been having problems starting when she's hot and is going to need some new tyres before winter. I probably needed to spend about £1000 on her for everything. With my new job being in Wakefield as well, I needed something with 4 wheel drive to get me over the hills when the weather is a bit dodgy. So anyway, last week I went to my local Audi garage just to have a look at what they had. I got to sit in an R8 in the showroom, then the man found me a Q3 s line with Quattro. It is 3 years old and will cost me an extra £1.10 per month on my finance. After much thinking, I have decided to go for it. When I was paying my deposit, I said how much my mum liked the R8 (she was with me). He said he would take her out for a spin in it if she wanted, I said he could, but only if I got to go as well So he took us both out (separately) for a spin in the R8 It was amazing I'll be so sad to say goodbye to Ana though, but it's time for her to give someone else some fun and I now have to be a grownup and have a sensible car The Q3 is really nice though. Just a shame it has a fixed roof Starting my new job today - it's my induction in Manchester, so am on the train there now. Not starting till 10am
  10. Karma is great Being naughty and having takeout tonight Hope everyone waiting for test results gets good news Went to my weightlifting club last night. I totally screwed up a box jump, but managed to style it out and not look like a moron. I ended up sitting on top of the stack of weight plates, but in the process, smacked my inner thigh against it Inside I was thinking owwwwwwww, but just laughed it off. Had my sports massage today, that really hurt when Dale went near that part of my leg Think I'm going to get a bruise. Apart from that, I had a brilliant session. Got loads of positive comments from a few of the coaches - feel like I'm finally making progress
  11. Do you keep him in the crate all the time Jazz?
  12. Suzeanna, I'm so sorry to hear about Rosie :grouphug: Hope Philip's operation goes ok
  13. Aww, it's a shame you aren't in Goa in November - would have been cool to spend some time helping you guys out again! Am sure things will be fine Alex. Usually if there is anything suspicious, they call you up to the hospital
  14. Today I am grateful for Destiny - found out about the hospital job whilst on holiday, found out when I got home from holiday that I was losing 2 regular days work, got the job at the hospital and that starts just after I finish in Swinton That has to be some kind of fate/destiny working!
  15. Forgot to say, thanks guys. I'm over the moon, but a bit scared at the same time. Because I'm going to be working in a hospital, if a patient sees me and has stuff wrong with them, it will be up to me to decide on the treatment plan for them. Usually I look and send them to the eye hospital. Now I am the eye hospital Thankfully they train me
  16. How exciting Sam - where in India are you going to be? I'm going to Goa in November Pictures of kitty please
  17. I got the job  Just spoken to Grace who interviewed me - she said there was no doubt in her mind when I left that she was going to offer me the job Am so happy
  18. Morning all Had a busy few days - mum and dad are away so I'm on Guinea pig duty. Have to call in every day to feed her. There aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done and have a bit of downtime as well Had my interview yesterday - I think it went really well. The hospital is brand new (it opened in May), the company seem to be really good at investing in their staff. I know a few people who work at the Manchester one and seem happy. Hopefully I'll find out in the next couple of days
  19. Does your hubby have high blood pressure or cholesterol Suzeanna? Both of those can cause vessels to burst in the eye. The blood should reabsorb, but sometimes burst blood vessels can lead to secondary complications like glaucoma. Had a good morning, went to insanity at the gym, then had a nice ride out on Blue. Came home and my ocado man rang to ask if he could deliver my shopping earlier. Whilst I was putting it away, the watermelon rolled out of the fridge and went splat on the floor
  20. What a day! Computers eventually decided to play ball at about 3pm. Am absolutely shattered now. Just want to go home and sleep, but I've got a quick gym session, then am on Guinea pig duty. I think Blue will cope without seeing me tonight, so after I've fed the Guinea pig, I can go home and rest.
  21. Am going to Goa - should be good. Although I was invited to the Maldives in January and I had to turn it down - can't afford two so close together. Am a bit gutted as I've wanted to go diving in the Maldives ever since I qualified as a diver, but I put my sensible head on and turned it down. The computers are down at work today - it's a total nightmare. Am having to hand write all my records - this isn't a problem, the problem comes when we get to the end of the day and I have a massive stack of records to put onto the computer (that's if it's working!)
  22. We have always let ours off the lead in an open field. They need time to sniff and run around and be dogs. Whenever we are anywhere near cars though, they have always gone back on the lead. Paid for my next holiday last night - 14 weeks to go Had a good training session with my weightlifting club last night. Feel like I'm starting to make real progress now - last night I managed to get some 'float' on the bar. Because the bar was so light, I nearly smacked myself in the face with it this is good news and means I'm making progress
  23. My current one is on my back. I can only see it if I look in the mirror and twist around. Most people only notice it if my t shirt rides up or when I wear a bikini on holiday. I like to know it's there. But if I ever regret it when I get old, I can't see it (if that makes sense)
  24. I like to know I have my tattoos, but sometimes people don't think they look professional. So I need to be able to cover mine up for work.
  25. Today I am grateful for Walter cuddles (even though I have stuff to do) Coffee Bacon butties
