  1. Can't count, there were 7 dogs altogether including my 2 reprobates.
  2. Trying to find out who donated the book'Polly and Friends' it says Gill Pavey but I think that might be the author as I can't fine her on looking through membership. Will keep looking though since I won the book and am dying to see it.
  3. During the firework season we always go away for a bit of peace and quiet. This year was no exeption and we were delighted when Marion and Dorothy came to visit with their 5 lovely dogs for a walk in Greystoke Forest in Cumbria. I though my BC Dylan would be a little wary at meeting 5 dogs he didn't know, but he had a whale of a time, a little too friendly perhaps with Marions Archie, and Scampi amazed us all after being so poorly at Easter. Just a couple of photo's and thank you Marion you made our day, just sorry we didn't have longer. Starting off. Showing the way. Waiting for Scampi
  4. Meant to say hands free, shows how daft I am. Though wearing it on my head tucked beneath a headband could be a new fashion statement. And Sarah, I argue with mine all the time often telling her to shut up, I know where I'm going, especially when going the wrong way along the East Lancs, she say's make a U turn but I can't 'cause they've closed the gap.
  5. I've had 2 Tomtom's, first one got pinched, second one I thought had broken so in a rush I went and bought a Garmin, find them both very easy to use with no problems. Tomtom 1, I then found worked OK, it was a fault with my car and the 12v connection on the tomtom and my stupidity, so let a good friend have it. As far as I'm concerned it is a matter of choice. I do find the Garmin a little easier when using the address and not postcode, although the voice on the Tom tom was easier to hear in traffic, I can use the Garmin as a headset when driving.
  6. I.N.A.H Collar and lead set arrived safely, sorry don't know when since we have been on holiday and a neighbour kindly took it in for me. Thank you.

    Cocoa Mulch

It does have a chocolate type odour.
  8. Just look at this little lad now, he's a little character. I met him again this lunchtime, he's a little podge, his hair has grown and he's now in good condition. Hoping to go to his new forever home very soon. Isn't he just gorgeous? Little Prince.
  9. Poor young lad and owners, hope all heals well. We go through something very similar each year but luckily my 2 haven't injured themselves. We actually had one go off at 3am the other day with Dyl my BC scrabbling under the bed. As soon as it gets dark he's on the alert, panting and listening, spending most of the time in the toilet panting and dribbling. Why they can't just have a community display for just one night I don't know, we could cope with that.
  10. Going away for 10 days on 3rd Nov. This wiill give me time to bid but won't give me time to post anything I have added, so if anyone wins them please could you bear with me till I get home again. Will then do the proper thing and post off to whoever. Edited to add. hope you know what I'm on about, it sounds double dutch to me
  11. I haven't had a dog with Diabetes Insipidus but have nursed humans with it although rare. It is caused by the Pituitary Gland not secreting enough of the antidiuretic hormone The treatment I'm sure is the same and treatment is usually with Desmopressin, which can be administered in a nasal spray, or even eye drops. You cannot restrict the water intake or dehydration rapidly follows. The treatment does work very successfully. Hope this helps.
  12. What a star she is and what lovely pics.
  13. Speaking of a transporter. Can manage her in Col's little wagon R. I just can't resist, bless her.
  14. I actually had the pleasure of taking him today from his lovely emergency fosterer to a great rescue person, he certainly won't be going into any kennels but staying in his home. I gave him a few little squishy hugs from everyone, not too hard though in case I broke him. He's a real poppet and travelled in a small cat carrier, he's such a babe. Needs building up though as he's very thin. Prince.
  15. A special love with a special family, she looks so much better already. thank you for sharing those pics and videos.

    Bow

What a very sad looking girl. Words fail me. Let's hope that she can live a happy life learning that there is love and happiness for the rest of her days with Grandma Squiggs. Bless you all for saving this old girl.

    Spooky...

The fact that the video was of a staffy did not offend me at all, it was the 'stick and branch' thing that caused concern. I don't have a staffy at the present time but we had a family one when I was younger. He was the most loving and friendly lad, and neighbours used to actually bring their kids along to play with him. He would always give his toys up to toddlers. How things and peoples opinions have changed over the years probably due to irresponsible owners. There are Staffy's living near to me and none of them are what you would call nasty dogs but the daftest most friendly anyone could hope to meet. I have also transported these dogs on several occasions and the noise they make I think is unique, a sort of yodel, all have been friendly as have other so called unpredictable breeds.

    Spooky...

Afraid I didn't care much for either video. Dogs playing with sticks is one of the most dangerous habits, they can become detached and cause the most horrific injuries or even death. Any stick can cause the same. I don't have a staffy but have also seen my friends EBT do similar which I have frowned on. See THIS
  19. Aww that's fantastic, and well done. I'm so pleased for both you and Malcolm.
  20. Sam, have a peek here HELP on which there is a forum to help Vista users, someone maybe able to advise. You have to register but I've used the site for several years and always had good advice and help.
  21. I remember that to die for car Claz. Problem is the place my car has gone to for repairs only have Micra's and Escorts and it is debateable as to whose fault it actually was since the accident happened on one of those mini roundabout thingy's, there is more damage to my car, off side rear door is unuseable as it's buckled and diesel cap and trim were sheared off, she just had damage to (L) headlight surround and everything is in working order. I'm just pleased there is no quibbling as to getting mine repaired and back on the road ASAP.
  22. On Monday morning whilst starting out on a short transport run another driver ran into the driving side rear of my car, causing some damage, cannot open rear door and petrol cap cover was sheared off. Luckily I hadn't yet picked my canine passenger up. Well today I took the car into repair place to await assessment and go ahead from insurance for repairs. I have been given a courtesy Nissan Micra, but inside on the dash there is a stuck on sign which says, amongst other things that No animals including Pets can be allowed in the car. So that puts paid to any transports for RDR till I get my car back. We are struggling at the moment with a run tomorrow so would be so relieved and grateful if there is anyone out there who can help please. The run is in the transport section.
