    Senile Dog

Just a update on my 'senile dog', he is much better not digging or pacing at night. I got a DAP diffuser as Egar suggested and it has been a great help, both of my dogs are much more relaxed. The other dog used to be terrified of thunder so I was amazed yesterday when we had a roll of thunder and he just lay in his bed and didn't react at all. So thanks to everyone for their comments, and fingers crossed my Boy will stay in a happy state. Special thanks to Egar.
  2. Oops pressed wrong button when trying to reply !! Thanks for the info Peachy that sounds good my dog weighs 30 kg so the bed would cope with him, Thanks again
  3. Thinking of buying new beds for my dogs, Coolaroo has been suggested to me. Can anyone tell me if they give good support as my one dog has bad hips and joints so I want to make sure he is not going to sag on it. Thanks

    Advice Please

Yes I do need to get the lady to agree, that's why I thought I should ask for advice before I suggest anything to her. She asked me if I could help the dog but I think she thought just brushing would do the trick. I did wash him down to see if the lumps would soften up but the coat is beyond that so more drastic action is needed.
  5. Well she looks fine to me and happy. I have got 2 Labs and I feed them on raw meat, trip, chicken and tripe mix or minced lamb 454g in the morning then same in the evening with that they have lots of raw or cooked veg I give extras a couple of times a week either raw egg or probiotic plain yoghurt. I dont give them any cereal or mixer they are in good condition and according to my vet a very good weight 30 and 31 kg. I did find when I cut out the cereals they lost a bit of weight but I think they look better now, they have a waist.
  6. Can anyone advise me please. I am a volunteer for Cinnamon Trust and one of the ladies I am assisting at present has long haired Collies. One of the dogs who has to live outside in a kennel with open run and I think because he sits down in the wet his coat around his hindquarters are very matted. How can I deal with this, should I try and cut the matted hair away ? Hope someone has some sdvice for me.
  7. What a handsome boy....lovely photos. Give him a cuddle from me.

    Xmas Victim

What a lovely dog she's had a lucky escape by the sound of it. How can people sleep at night when they do such heartless things. Really hoping someone will be able to offer her a home.

    Senile Dog

Hi Mrs Mopp No he doesn't have arthritis, vet said he is very fit very athletic not at all over weight. During the day he is always on the go playing with his ball etc and keen to go out walking, the problem is he seems to want to stay awake and have company all night. I have another younger Lab who has hip dysplasia and he the poor thing gets a bit perplexed about the nightly goings on.

    Senile Dog

My 10 1/2 old Labrador has started acting strangely at night, pacing and digging and getting agitated. My Vet thinks it may be that he is getting senile and has put him on Clomicalm. He is showing a slight improvement but still waking and pacing in the early hours. Has anyone had experience of this ? If so I would be grateful to hear from you.
