  1. will scan the pic of the one I want, he is just too cute. The one I have bought is a Grade A so any foals he has with a Grade A mare would be stud book foals which is quite a thing in Appy's. The one I really like is a Grade B so gonna take a bit more convincing to persuade my boss that we need him - my hubby says I can have him instead of a kitchen, but dont think thats a good idea as my kitchen is falling apart
  2. I bought my boss a horse, he is just turning 2
  3. horse and rider mag this month have some good schooling cards, plus some good info on working on a flying change during cantering, really well explained etc?
  4. meant to say, that was just the deposit he sent me down with. Bought one, but potentially 2 cos I have fallen in love with one of last years foals who is just stunning
  5. anyone near Bishop Auckland wanna come and buy a horse with me tomorrow My boss has given me £1000 and is sending me down to look at a 2 year old, if I like it, I can buy it as a potential stallion for the stud. I'm not panicing about the responsibility, oh no, honest I'm not Its scarey that my boss has so much faith in me I will have an early start as its about 3 hours from me, will take pics and show you guys if I buy him
  6. crap, that sounds exactly the same, its the refusal to say where the dog is thats landing the person who is going through this in trouble. In Scotland its ever so slightly different in so much as a verbal agreement is law, but thats going to be really hard to prove
  7. the vet has made a statement to the police staing exactly what has happened, which is why this is completely strange. Solicitors have been brought on board but obviously folks who know a bit about dog law might have some good suggestions. Rescue was given the dogs medical history from the vets which included vax history etc, this did not come from the owners, it was sent with the dog from the vets. The dog did come with all its food, bedding, collar and lead etc, which you would not hand over unless the dog was not going to be returned to you. Thanks, will read over the dog law stuff, looks good.
  8. well if anyone can think of something please let me know, the rescue rep has already refused to disclose the details of where the dog has gone to the police so its serious enough already
  9. unfortunately not as the vet did not want to pts the puppy and thats why she asked a dog trainer for help, who contacted a rescue rep who offered to help. The owners claim that they have proof of ownership because they have a receipt to state they purchased the dog, it was not microchipped - it is now, in the name of the new owner. Arguement I have is that they gave the dog away, they then spoke to the rescue rep to check the dog had settled and to discuss the dogs medical history etc, it was not until the dog was rehomed that they decided to try and get the dog back?
  10. Right, long story, but basically... puppy bites child, owners take pup to vet and want PTS, vet offers to find rescue place over weekend, vet finds place, dog goes to rescue. Vet was mega busy and neglected to get owners to sign over the dog! Dog is rehomed Owners phone and want dog back, rescue say no. Owners call police and police contact rescue to say its theft and that a case will be made for the procurator fiscal (scotland) who will decide about prosecuting for theft unless rescue say where dog is. Rescue refuses to give up dog as its not in the dogs best interests. so if the owners did not ask for the dog back within 7 days of dropping it off at the vet does that mean that they have no legal claim to the dog? anyone any ideas about this one as its gonna get messy???
  11. the boots are great, a bar steward to get my foot into because of the shape of my feet, but fit once on, they have a full zip down the back, its just the last bit, once the leather softens and I have a shoe horn they should be great The green polo shirt for £5 is lovely and the aussie ladies hats are great for £10
  12. some great Shires bargains at this site, just got some nice long black leather boots and a polo shirt http://www.triedtested.co.uk/
  13. wow, lots to catch up. Loving the jumping clinic video, takes me back to the days when my life revolved around jumping and I really do miss it, they had showjumping at the Selby game fair and what I would have given to have a go. The dressage pics are great to, Apple looks great, cant believe how well you are doing with him Jayne, he really is lovely. Rolo is looking stunning as always, he will look lovely in the show ring, I thought it would be scarey showing, but its not, its good fun. Great news about the box and car Jacky, bet you are delighted. Not much happening with me and the Appy's, just started chucking them all out as the weather is improving, its great fun watching the boys get a go in the field, they really go for it, must try and take my camera and take some exploding Appy colt pics Off to look at some new horses next week, driving to Darlington to check out some young colts, so mega busy but got nothing to ride until the ground dries up a bit and I can get Nookie out for some lunging before taking him out.
  14. welcome back Morag, Caroline from the pet shop said she had met you and passed on your hello's. Sorry to hear things went a bit pear shaped but glad you can see light at the end of the tunnel, and wishing you happiness for the future, whatever you decide
  15. OMG, those pics, someone watched out for you that day
  16. If I could trade our tent in for one with a built in ground sheet I would. Basically your ground sheet is part of the entire inner of the tent. Currently mine has seperate rooms thats go up inside, and then you lay a ground sheet down in the middle, but the middle is wasted space and the bedrooms are small if you want more than one campbed in them. A built in ground sheet means you can put your bed up anywhere in the tent and the dogs can lie in beside you etc, just something to consider when you are looking
  17. thats the one, its their "you bet, they die" factsheet that I couldnt find, cheers
  18. can someone give me the link to get the facts about greyhound racing to pass on to someone who is organising a night at the dogs please?
  19. for those of you on the hunt for horsey TV, Trouble at 8pm on a monday night, new series called Wildfire about a girl who had been in jail who is given a job working at a racehorse stable, it wasnt bad at all, always nice to have a girly horsey programme to watch, its a series so I presume the first episode might be repeated???
  20. yay, great news for Danny, I always fel sorry for him when you post about him, he will be spoilt lots now Love the pics of Rolo, he is such a gorgeous boy

  22. as someone who is in the system at the moment I do feel that my taxes, and that of my OH who pays 40% of his wages in tax, should offer us the health treatment that we require. We have been in the system for 5 years, its not easy at all and yes, if we had been in the situation where we had to go privately we would have done - we did have some private appointments - however I am lucky enough to have 6 treatment cycles funded by the NHS and I do consider us lucky to have them - they arent my god-given right as a tax payer but while they are offered I will use them. A health defect in my body means that I am infertile, drugs to counteract that defect did not work, therefore the only way round the defect in my body is treatment - in my opinion that makes it a concern of the health service just as much as any other non-life threatening health condition.
  23. thanks, so 12 Brazil nuts is OK for lunch but actually I would have been better off eating a sandwich
