  1. Oh dear murtle - I hope you've managed to make it through the day It's also 4 weeks til I go away, so we must be away the same week gooster Jazz I finally made it to the rescue center to donate Zooey's left over food this weekend - we'd done a bulk order just before he died so I've had 96 large cans of cat food in the garage since November and no cat, but I couldn't bring myself to do anything with it until now.
  2. Loobie I'm so sorry things are going so badly at the moment. I really hope you can get the help and support you and your family need I lost all of yesterday to a migraine - went to bed at 9:30 on Sunday evening and didn't get up until 4:30 yesterday afternoon, with the exception of letting the dogs out for a wee twice. The dogs were so good - didn't ask for a walk or hassle me at all, just slept on the bed with me Love my dogs Head is mostly better today, but working from home in case it gets any worse again.
  3. Morning. Griff How did baddie get on at the vet snow? Glad the birthday banquet was enjoyable Busy day today. Lots to sort out. So far I've managed to submit my meter readings to new energy supplier - which isn't exactly a time consuming task but it managed to be more complicated than it should have been, plus I left it to the last minute. I'm waiting for someone to show up to put 2 new tyres on my car, as both the front tyres have slow punctures and the tread is getting low. I should probably do some work today, and then I'm off to see the new x-men film with my sister this evening
  4. Happy Birthday Yantan
  5. Suzeanna You're not shallow at all. I hope the date goes well Jayne I wouldn't worry about his kid yet - find out if you like him first! I'm also not a fan of rhubarb, despite growing it in the garden. Saw a recipe that uses it for a sour dough starter, so might give that a try as a way to use some up without having to eat it. I haven't fed butchers Jazz, so can't comment. Hoep you sort it soon though as constantly cleaning up dog crap in the house isn't fun I need to win the lottery, could do with an extra million £ or so at the moment. Can you send some of your luck my way Yantan?
  6. Owl, you have been busy! Makes me tired just reading it Did you find your secateurs yantan? I had a fairly busy weekend. We're trying to get the house ready to sell, so I was doing housy things most of the weekend. New door handles on a couple of the doors, painted (5 coats!) the cupboard door - only for Paul to put a wooly blanket down on the door as the last coat was drying so I need to sand it down and try again I went into town with my sister and mum for some shopping and lunch yesterday, which was good fun. Bought some new shoes so I might actually be able to wear a skirt and look professional at work this summer.
  7. Morning. I have managed to sort out our buildings and content insurance this morning - for less than half the price our current insurances wanted for renewal It really does pay to shop around - we're normally lazy and just take the renewal as it is easier, so I'm glad I decided to see what else was available. Glad the wet room is done Jazz
  8. Morning. Sounds interesting owl. I agree alex - far too nice to be stuck in an office all day. I am sat at work trying to get my work done without using my right pointer, as Logan was a git this morning and lunged for his ball as I was picking it up. His tooth ended up going down underneath my nail It is rather sore now. Time to work on some self control exercises with him again. He was a git at agility yesterday too - jumped on San's Glen for no reason (sorry again San). Its a wonder I have any hair left, I'm sure I've torn it all out at this point.
  9. Glad Ana is back where she belongs I hope the unpacking has gone well Murtle I've been sanding down the woodwork round the garage door, getting it ready for painting. Have just taken a break to walk Logan and Kia. Think I'll pressure wash the back paving next
  10. Happy Birthday Murtle I hope you had a great day. Glad to hear Ana is fixed Enjoy your morning with Evie I need to stop losing weight - things have been a bit stressful and I'm down as low as I'd like to be. Need to do a meal plan for the week so I make sure I actually have food in the house to eat when I get hungry. Logan's also looking a bit skinny as his exercise has increased recently, so need to up his rations too. He's a pain in the arse to feed, as he doesn't tolerate normal kibble well, but when I feed him grain-free kibble it makes his dog aggression worse. Would love to get him back on raw but need a freezer to store it in and our old one broke.
  11. Morning. Jayne Morse's lump doesn't look nasty Not a fatty lump, but not attached to anything. Going to monitor it and only investigate if it grows any. I had a busy evening yesterday. Sorted out the front garden a bit - weeded and then planted a few new plants. Got stabbed by one of the very dead rose bushes I was chucking out Then I took Logan out for our bike ride. He was so good He's a little bit unsure of the bike, but once we got going he relaxed. The only not-good bit was having to stop and get off the bike whenever we passed other dogs - I can't trust Logan not to have a go, and I didn't feel in enough control to stay on the bike while holding him close. Once I'm a bit more used to cycling I can take him up to Swinley forest and let him offlead, but at the moment I think the hills would kill me Once we got back home I decided to dye my hair - it is now very red again. Did a bit of a crap job of dying it though - will have to get more dye and have a go at tidying it up sometime next week - I missed a few bits along my hairline.
  12. Sounds good suzeanna - glad it finally seems to be healing up now Jazz, hope the bathroom replacement goes smoothly Enjoy Dublin murtle. I hope that when you get home there is no water where it shouldn't be Thanks for the thoughts for Morse - he's off to the vet later today to have his lump checked out, and also his elbow which he's been licking at a lot recently. It looks a lovely day out there. Hopefully is stays nice, as I'm hoping to get a bike ride in with Logan after work this evening.
  13. Morning Didn't sleep well last night - would quite like a quick nap. Don't think work would be too impressed though.
  14. Well done snow Dakota is lovely She looks very serious for a pup! I found a lump on Morse's chin today I didn't notice it on Friday, and mum and dad hadn't noticed it over the weekend, but they're not the most observant so not sure how long its been there. Going to keep an eye on it and if it doesn't go down get him to the vet. I know they can't live forever, but Morse is definitely an old man now so I worry over the littlest things with him.
  15. Morning. Also knackered. Spent most of yesterday at the agility show, then came home to do all the chores I should have done on Saturday but didn't! Had a lovely, if a bit chilly day though.
  16. Happy Birthday suzeanna Welcome Owen I hope he is soon out of special care, and that nick and vicky aren't too stressed Hope the move goes more smoothly than the repair work did murtle
  17. Hope you've had a good day meeting the new arrivals suzeanna I've had a lovely day enjoying the sunshine. Took Logan for his first bike ride with us - he loved it and was soooo good. Kia was terrified of the bike so need to work on desensitization before I try with her. Also need to get myself a bike - I borrowed Paul's, but as he's 5'11" and I'm 5'4", it was a bit big for me. Also managed to sort out the garden a bit. It had been taken over by forget-me-nots.
  18. Can't believe it is may already - how did that happen
  19. Suzeanna, I hope it is now all sorted, and you don't have any more bother
  20. Morning. Glad to hear baddie's dental went well
  21. Suzeanne, I hope things are no worse today I hope Baddie's dental goes smoothly, and he has a nice quick recovery I was amazed when Zooey had most of his teeth out he was in there munching on dried food the same day (despite having wet food down as well). Shadow, my parents' 18 year old cat is in the vet today. He was drinking more than usual, so went in last week for blood tests, which show he is diabetic I know diabetes in cats is something that can normally be fairly well managed, but we had such a bad time of it with Topsy (who couldn't be stabilised) that we're all worried. Mum's switched vets since Topsy, and hopefully the new ones are a bit more competent, as previous vets didn't seem to know what they were doing.
  22. Suzeanna I hope it can be sorted easily, and that is doesn't get any worse before you can have it looked at properly
  23. I'm currently using the EzyDog quick fit harness for my two and really like it. When they pull, it puts the pressure across their chest and not at all round their neck. And the ring where the lead attaches is free to move a bit, so when the dog pulls to the side the harness doesn't twist at all. Its adjustable enough to cope with Kia and Logan's funny shapes, and has a bit of a handle at the back. Hurtta do a very similar harness, but the front bit isn't adjustable so the size that fit Logan's girth didn't have a long enough strap across the chest. It isn't an anti pull harness, but then I walk them with the harnesses and a double ended lead attached to dogmatic head collars, so use the head collar if they're pulling.
  24. Morning. You ok Alex? You were on here early - even for you.
  25. Loobie Owl, that's rubbish. Really hope it can be sorted quickly and your aunt can stay in her own home. murtle, I hope your adventure is short and sweet I took Logan and Kia down to the field this morning so Logan could play fetch. He retreived once then spent 10 minutes chasing the crows back and forth - they really do tease him and seem to enjoy the game, swooping low to entice him and then rising just out of reach when he gets close. Kia was most put out that I wouldn't let her off lead to join in!
