  1. When is baby due, jazz? I would have thought they would watching her carefully after having lost her last baby. I have collected car and paid bill. Eyes tested and do not need new specs. Optician recommended I get ones for laptop use as that is where I am having difficulty. Varofocals restrist the amount of lens available snd he felt a larger ens would be better. SO, only £49 for pair. Boiler serviced and paid for. Now just insurance and VED to buy for the end of the month. Plumber didn't manage to come yesterday as he had developed a reaction on his leg after cutting down hogweed to recover a football. Hives spread right up his leg and was incredibly itchy so he needed to visit GP. Getting an appointment was another matter.
  2. Hope all goes well with DIL ,jazz.r Car passed MOT but a couple of things need done. Suspension rods to be changed and timing belt due to be changed because of age although not doing a lot of mileage. Garage cannot do both at moment as one mechanic on holiday and one off sick so only the owner there. Getting timing belt done as that would cause mega damage is it went and will get suspension done when able. Still going to be dent on my bank balance as VED and car insurance due beginning of July. I have an eye test tomorrow so more expense. This is not a good month financially.
  3. Not been up to much. Nice weather is continuing although last two mornings have been cloudy. Sun penetrated in the afternoon. So I have been doing bits andn pieces in the garden. Went to the garden centre for hydrangea feed and bought more plants. Waiting for Amazon to deliver water retaining gel to get them planted up. We are threatened with a water shortage and asked not use hoses as there has been very little rain in the last two months and the rivers are low. Who would have thought Scotland would have a water shortage.
  4. It's nice to be back. I thought it had gone for ever. It is quite summery here this week with blue skies and sunshine so I have been pottering in the garden. It is beginning to get some colour in it now. Winter coat and fleece washed today before putting away until next winter.

So far we have missed the rain and thunder. Supposed to be torrential rain just now but the sun is shining. Tried to pay my credit card bill this morning but it wouldn't go through. Contacted the bank who checked and confirm there was no problem with my card so it must bew a problem with Tesco's payment system. I have sent a complaint to Tesco. The form asked what I wanted to happen- well fix it, obviously.

Good the Brian is flourishing. My electric has gone down this year but gas is much the same. BG estimated my usage would be £786 but then wanted me to pay £78 per month. Last year I paid £65 per month and for the last three months of the year they told me to reduce my payments to £10. I don't know what school they went to, but i told them that 1/12 of £786 was not £78 and I expected them to reduce my DD to £65. They did so but tell me I am going to have an underpayment at the end of the year, which is next March. As I regularly check my account that will not be a problem.

Not much happening here. Got my cold frame set yesterday as the weather was a bit warmer but back to damp and cold today. So, ot inclined to go out and set up manger basket. Tomorrow is supposed to be better.
  13. I hope Trevor isn’t too badly shaken up . Cars can be replaced. After Cold and damp week it has dried up this afternoon and got warmer. I bought a op up cold frame to protect my bedding plants until it is safe to put them out. My little greenhouse has seen better days and The frame tends to open up.I am thinking A cold frame will be less likely to blow over in the wind.
  14. Went to the garden centre for some compost and some plants may have dropped into my trolley. I came out to a cold wind and rain, which turned to sleet on the way home. Now the sun is shining. Sad about Len Goodwin.
  15. Yay, allowed in today. Tuned colder here and wet. grandson is recovering. Let's hope it lasts this time. He reacted badly to the antibiotics that the hospital gave him so GP prescribed another . My DIL made the point to the GP that they wouldn't give him an appointment at 5.15pm when she phoned ( they close at 6pm) so she phoned NHS24 who saw him in an hour. tHis triage system is not good.A GP cannot accurately assess how a person is without seeing them in the flesh, especially children. My son and fiance got married yesterday and sent some lovely photos and a video of the ceremony att eh registry office. Mind you it was in Romanian so couldn't understand what was said. Looking forward to them coming to Scotland to celebrate here with family and friends.
  16. Whether I can post is hit and miss with this new system. Sometimes I just get a page of text. Another sunny day here although there is a cool breeze. Lovely in the sun. Must do some hoovering and steam clean my floors. They have not been dome for ages. The sun shows up the dust and crumbs.
  17. Welcome Brian. I would be frightened I would stand on sonething that small Every thing must look gigantic to him. Grandson is bad again. Was very sick last night and complaining of headache and all joints aching. GP thinks he is reacting to strong antibiotics he has for strep throat so have prescribed another one. if that doesn't work it will be back to hospital. Poor boy must be so fed up feeling rotten. ON a brighter note My son and his fiance get married in Romania on Saturday. It is very quiet civil ceremony wit only two witnesses as they don't want any fuss. We will have a celebration meal when they come here.
  18. My grandson was admitted to Sick Kidds hospital on Wednesday. he had sore head, was dizzy and had a sore back. They took bloods to test for meningitis and started him on intravenous antibiotics s a precaution. He was discharged on Saturday morning when bloods tests were clear for bacterial infection so diagnosis was a viral infection. Saturday afternoon hospital phoned to say that his throat swab was positive for strep and my DIL had to go to the hospital to collect a course of strong antibiotics. So he had a virus and a strep throat- no wonder he felt ill. He is bouncing back to normal but not eating much yet.
  19. Sorry to read that, owl. nowhere is safe these days. We used to walk our dogs on waste ground at a local council roads depot. One day we found youngsters on small motorbikes using it and churning up the paths. That was okay until they came where we were walking sand had to stop as we and the dogs were on the path. My husband asked if they had permission to be there and the young boy ( about 12) said 'yes'. Husband wrote to owner of site reporting it and we never saw them again.
  20. Eventually got part of my prescription. One medication not there- they have none- and one half supply. We have to Order through an online portal. this goes to the surgery who process the prescription and , once they get round to it, pass it to the chemist using an online system. Due to the holiday the chemist got no prescriptions through from last week until Wednesday so they are snowed under now. LLoyds are pulling out of their shops in Sainsbury's and have a notice saying they are currently changing ownership. The staff change everyday. they do not answer the phone- too busy- and keep running out of medications. We are hoping Boots will take over as they were not allowed to issue prescriptions from the retail unit because Lloyds were already there.. Like the GP surgery the chemist suffers from the large increase in population in the town due to two large new housing estates being built with no increase in the provision of services.

  22. We have jad sunshine and showers today with a breeze. Did get my sheet and duvet cover washed and nearly dry before a shower came on. I have been trying to get a repeat prescription for 12 days now. Tried to order online a week past Friday. System was unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. Monday still could not get in to systemas unavailable or server not responding. Eventually got in to order but did not get confirmation email and could not get in again to check so phoned surgery. They agreed to iput it through to be actioned. Managed to get in on Wednesday and it said processed. Surgery was closed Friday until Tuesday so checked with Chemist today- no prescription received but due to holiday weekend they were onlt getting last weeks prescriptions today. Phoned the surgery to check it had been sent to correct chemist- guess waht? it had not beed sent anywhere . So, it was to be emailed to the chemist this afternoon. I will go for it tomorrow and hope it is there as I have only two days supply left. We are only supposed to order when two weeks supply left
  23. Little white dogs around here are all shouty dogs, but the owners just smile sweetly at them. They also seems to have two, who of course, encourage each other.
  24. Don't like creme eggs- too sickly. I bought myself a box of Quality Street and a pack of three Turkish Delight bars. Another sunny day here. I getting used to waking up to sunshine. I hope yo do some clering up in the frint garden and remove the weeds in the monoblock. We shall see. Takeaway with family tonight and watch the Paul O'Grady tribute.
  25. A glorious day today. I did some tidying in the garden. to enjoy the sunshine. Should be the same tomorrow.
