Little bird not been back. Must have been a "flying" visit. It is dry and sunny today for the first time for weeks. The ground is actually drying out. I have been getting organised for Christmas and my visitors coming. This time next week it will be over, for another yer.

Unfortunately, I tried but it didn't come close enough or stay still long enough to get a photograph. I didn't see it today so maybe it was just passing through. If it comes again I will try to get a photograph. I am in Midlothian if that matters.

Owl, you know about birds. There is a bird coming to the garden with a pack of sparroes. It is sparrow sized and cloured except it has a white head and white back. Is it just a mismarked sparrow. I have sen blackbirds with white on them. I think it the weather has forgotten how to stop raining. Everywhere is sodden after days of non stop rain.

Walked to Asda this morning for some overdue exercise. It is mild and dry ( so far) today but very dark. Heavy rain ius forecast for this afternoon. Oh, joy, we are going to see Wicked this afternoon. Looks like we will get soaked. i Ihave an Amazon order coming from America and tracking tells me the flight it is on has landed in Surrey.

Very cold here this morning but the sun has made an appearance. At least it is staying dry but heavy rain forecast for tomorrow. need to go shopping and get fuel but it is cold out there!

Bitterly cold here but no more snow. A few years ago our boiler packed in the day before we were due to go away for Christmas. We had a wood burner which was very effective on heating the whole house but we needed the central heating for when we were away. Fortunately, a local heating engineer came out that day and fixed it. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to go away.

Still cold here but no more snow so far. Looks a wee bit warmer today as the frost on the car windscreen has cleared. It is supposed to get milder from Tuesday.

A covering of snow overnight but sun shining now. Not much heat in it , though. looks nice and bright. Won't be venturing far as road not been cleared of snow.

Winter has arrived this morning with snow last night. I have cleared the drive and a track to the bird feeder in the back garden. I have a squirrel visiting daily for his breakfast and his afternoon tea. He gets up to contortions to reach the hanging feeder but enjoys the peanuts and sunflower seeds.

I am back in the land of the living. and have caught up up on waht should have been done but wasn't , due to my cold. Washing is on as I get half price electricity from 11am -4pm on Sunday, thanks to British Gas. My brain was befuddled as I picked up my knitting last night to discover that all that I had done when having the lurgy was wrong . I sat and ripped it all back last night.

Hooray, it is not raining this morning. Had a proper sleep last night. I might manage a trip to the shops. I need to change a jumper I bought., but haven't felt like venturing out this week, between having the cold and it being dark and raining. It is good to meet up with friends and have a nice meal.

Still choked up but less sneezing. Feel like a goldfish gasping for air. Only catnapped last night as my throat felt as if I was swallowing razor blades. Tea and toast and a couple of paracetamol this morning have revived me somewhat.

A but wet here today. I am full of the cold and keep sneezing so have done nought all day. Lemsip tastes horrible but works.

2years old is not old for alaptop. Mine os 7 years old and no problems. Are you sure it is not your internet connection? We had problems at out last house if to many people were logging on for the system to cope. After a wet start the sun ahs come out so iI have a couple of sweaters on the line getting a blow. Was at hairdressers yesterday. The frst time for ages it hasn't been raining when I have had my hair done. Nothing planned for today so will catch up on some knitting. The rescue I got my two from have 15 dogs comong over from Ireland today to go into foster. That includes a litter of golden retriever pups and a litter of retriever crosses.

Sun is shining again today. Gave the garden a tidy up yesterday and potted up some bulbs and primroses for some colour. Going to my grandson's showcase for his 'pom.pom' class - cheer leading without the cheering, just the pompoms and the movements. I have been lucky that my dogs have not been bothered by fireworks or where I lived there weren't any. it is a nightmare for those affected as it is random from now until New year. The laws are no use as by the time they are reported they are finished and there is no proof where they let off. Last week there was a report and video of fireworks being thrown at police who had stopped a car for some reason.

Been a dark, wet day. It did clear for a short time this afternoon but that didn't last. I had my grandson visit thihs morning. He was off school and his mum had a physio appointment. She currently has severe back pain and sciatica. Forecast is not good for fireworks this weekend. The areas flooded last week have not dried out and are due to get deluged again on Thursday and Friday.

Bet he was having fun! I can't see what was on the bottom of page page 6 as you can't click back. I used to be able to get a previous page by going out to the page index and clicking the page number but now the numbers jump from 4 to 7, no 5 or 6 available.

A friend who did jury duty had a similar experience. Some said that he looked the type to have done it but she was arguing that they were not there to decide if he did it or not. They were there to assess if the prosecution had proved, beyond all reasonable doubt, that he did it. it was a horrible case of child abuse.

Just seen another storm is on its way for the end of the week.

Yesterday was sunny until evening , when it poured rain. Had a nice day at the Ceroc Scottish Championships. My son and DIL are very involved with this. Today is dark ( had to put the light on) and pouring rain. There is still flooding in the north east and more rain is falling on the already sodden ground. No trains are running north of Perth and the ferries to the islands are cancelled due to weather warnings. Got a citation for jury duty yesterday but as I am over 71 I can ask for exclusion.

Where the floods have happened they have been extreme. In one report it showed the water had been over the roof of a car. People in Brechin are not going to back in their houses before Christmas as the devastation is so bad. The cost of it all is unimaginable.

Frosty morning but the sum is shining. Time to bring the winter coat out of the wardrobe. Had my winter vaccination yesterday- flu and covid. No side effects, not even a sore arm.
