  1. Advise please!! My computer is running at snails pace, Im guessing its full of junk but I dont know how to clean it. Ive deleted all cookies, temp files, on the tools, internet options part, but what else can I do! Its driving me mad! Also how do I find out how much memory I have left? Can you put it very simply please, Im not the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to this sort of thing!! Thanking you very muchly!
  2. Thankyou!! Its super-duper-fabby!! Im just so not techy its unbelievable!! But we got there in the end!!
  3. My daughter has just bought herself a laptop, and we cant get it started!! The manual says it has to delete all settings to then restore settings, if you know what i mean!! Its now done this several times but we cant get any further with it. It states this could take up to 20 mins, buts its now been on about an hour and just gets to the end of what its doing, shuts down and starts again, we cant make any further progress. Any ideas what we're doing wrong? Ignore everything ive just said - its now working!!!!
  4. On hearing of their troubles Im wondering whether or not to take out my savings and put them elsewhere. I dont have much, but what I do have I cant afford to lose. I guess its more worrying for people with mortgages. I remember Northern Rock saying everything was fine and then they went under, could this be the same? Or is it worry over nothing?
  5. Oops, missed this yesterday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY for yesterday, hope you had a great day!!

    Advice Needed

Thinking of Axle today, hope all goes well. Looking forward to an update later with good news!
  7. For those that missed first part this is repeated today at 4.30 on ITV, second part on at 9pm.
  8. Just bought some fab Peter Storm walking boots from Millets for £25. They have a sale on for anyone interested.
  9. At the moment for me its got to be Mitch and Jade, the 2 oldie springers with Oldies, just adorable.
  10. Ive lived alone most of my adult life, its never bothered me at all. But Im in the town, and there are plenty of neighbours around, I feel perfectly safe. Guess its something youre either happy with, or your not?
  11. Is that still there?? Ok will do, thanks Sue!
  12. Thankyou all so so much for all your suggestions. Comfort is of most importance, dont give a monkeys what they look like, and yes Im prepared to pay out whatever it takes, my feet are suffering so much at the moment!

    Gcse Results

Well done all on fab results!
  14. As a dog walker I live in trainers, but these are now ready for the bin, and Im finding my feet are so sore once Ive got them off, almost to the point I can hardly stand up, and this is only after a couple of hours! So........... what do you all wear on long walks? What's comfortable? Any better options to trainers? Im needing something new pretty soon, that will hopefully see me through winter, any suggestions more than welcome!! Thanking you muchly!
  15. Thanks again for all help and advice! Im only paid to walk her. Anyway, today I used a gentle leader, and it was like I was walking a different dog! It was marvellous, no pulling! She didnt like it though, so Im hoping she will get used to it in time. If not, I have a whole selection of harnesses/collars etc lent to me, so may try other things if she does find the leader distressing. But so far so good!
  16. maybe Ill see if i can borrow a harness or head collar? dont know how id get on with the walking away/turning around part, as im afraid shes much stronger than me! But ill give it a go!! Also not keen on mentioning it to the owners, as this is what Im paid to do, and they might see it as Im failing to do my job properly?? Thankyou for the advice.
  17. Bit of a long one! I walk a young female lab once a day for half an hour. Doesnt sound much I know, but she pulls me the whole time, and I ache afterwards!! If she picks up a scent of something, she very nearly has me over, shes extremely strong, and Im not!! Is there anything I could do in such a short amount of time to try and improve this? Ive also decided to stop giving her off lead runs on the nearby park, as she has no recall at all, and was today jumping up at a pregnant lady, almost knocked over a small child (in enthusiasm I must point out) but has total deafness when it comes to commands! Im assuming she hasnt had an awful lot of training. She is a very enthusiastic dog and just wants to say hello to everyone, but this always means a big jump up, which is not good! I dont really want to spend money on harnesses etc, as shes not mine, but I would like to be able to make our walks a bit more enjoyable, rather than stressful! I love seeing her, shes such a sweetheart, but Im no longer looking forward to walking her! Any advice would be fab, thankyou!
  18. Thankyou so much again for all offers of help and advice. Im really not sure how she would cope with nappies, since having her stroke last year she is very sensitive, and doesnt like anything touching her, the only place i can touch her to make a fuss of her is on her head. But think Im going to have to invest in a new bed, her duvet is in the washing machine yet again!!
  19. Thankyou so so much for all your wonderful replies. Im not sure how to go about keeping her confined, and Im pretty sure being crated isnt going to be possible, Tilly is a nervy dog who is also deaf, and needs to be near me at all times for her security. She came from a rescue with no history, but Im almost certain she was a breeding bitch, who was thrown out once she was no longer of any use. She was found as a stray with an eye tumour, and had to have the eye removed. She has just weed herself in her sleep, on her duvet, so more washing! But shes looking so sorry for herself, Im really beginning to wonder if shes trying to tell me something. Been a hard day today. Thankyou so much for your responses, and I will have a good think about how to proceed.
  20. Tilly is an elderly springer, who is incontinent at night. Every night she wees at least 3 or 4 times, my upstairs is covered with plastic mats and towels, so its a daily chore to wash the carpets and wash the towels etc. Occasionally, I have to deal with poo as well. Last night she had diarrhoea, and has spread it throughout the house, having stood in it, she sleeps on my bed so Ive also had a sleepless night having to sleep next to the smell of poo!! (Obviously I cleaned the majority last night.) This isnt a first, and to be honest, Im struggling to cope. All the carpets are ruined, but theres no point replacing them, Im having to vax them at least once a week. Today Im just feeling exhausted, with all the washing, cleaning etc, sleepless nights, and maybe I just needed to get it off my chest. So thanks for reading! Is anyone else in this situation? How do you deal with it? Its not Tillys fault, and I love her dearly, Im just finding it so hard to keep on top of it now.
  21. If it could make me look a size 10 Im having one!! Prefer jeans though!
  22. You have my total sympathies, my ex - oh, father of my daughter, is cut from the same cloth. No sense of responsibilty, and Im ashamed to say, he sees his daughter as and when he can be bothered, I couldnt stand the rows, so I gave in. Men eh?? I am now well and truly single and staying that way! Lots of for you.
  23. How is the gorgeous Wiggle?
