  6. mmmmm, my rottie Murphy has a bit of a thing with black labs too (not all but some) but loves Choc ones, he also has a bit of a dislike for Golden Retrievers and Irish/Red setters - probably cause the ones we met have tried to eat him He absolutely adores all small doggies though, even if they yap and tried to at him - he adores them, especially JRTs and Westies
  7. I would really appreciate healing thoughts for Murphy peeps. I've noticed over the last few weeks or so that Murphy has a lump that comes up from time to time of the crest of his skull (between the ears), its not always up and if it does come up it can go down again within 30 mins but the other night it was visible from right across the room, THe lump is hard not soft and is not war or hot either. See pic below: I took Murphy Murphy to the vets today but it didnt go well and Murphy didnt take to the new vet at all and had to be muzzled and even then Murphy was still very very aggitated so we decided to leave it and hes booked in for a biopsy on Thursday but has to be muzzled prior to getting to the vets, which I totally understand but I feel awful Poor Murphy loved the old vet, Jamie, but hes gone to Glasgow now. When the vet initially came out Murphy got so excited cause he though it was Jamie. For those of you that dont know of Murphy, Trust me, he's been through hell of a lot (2 x TPLO op to name but a few) - in fact hes had over £14,000 worth of ops/xrays and meds over the last 2 years and we have only just managed to get back to some normality and now we have this The vet and I think it is some kind of fluid pocket/Cyst that is filling up but then the pressure is causing it to drain and so on. Poor Murphy will have a big shaved area on his head and they will do a needle biopsy and possible an xray - hes gonna have a cold head the poor dude. Healing thoughts for my boy please.

  9. Im sorry to hear about Ice My Rottie, Murphy, is also on Rimadyl and Seraquinand I have given him Synlex too but I have ordered some Cortaflex today as I have heard that is very good. Murphy has had 2 x TPLO ops (snapped cruiciates) and an op to fix a luxating patella all in the last 18 months but I have noticed a slight change in him over the last 6 weeks andhe has air snapped a couple of times (I think his hips may be going too) - Im going to be seeing my vet next week and asking a few more questions about the Rimadyl. I hope Ice feels better soon and hugs to you too as I know how stressed it makes us

    Rimadyl

my Rottie, Murphy has been on Rimadyl for his ED (and following his 2 x TPLO ops) for just over a year now and we have had no problems - he has had blood tests done twice in this period and they have been ok.
  12. Eeew Sully Louisebt - have a fab time Im off to Pilates tonight, havent been in a few weeks and am rather achy, will be more achy tomorrow no doubt
  13. Murphy had his xray yesterday but the leg has still not healed so more xrays in 4 weeks but heis not allowed walks in the meantime but he is being referred to a Hydro pool for doggies - he's gonna love that
  14. Hi Rykat Thanks you for your well wishes. It turned out that Muprhy had snaped the other cruciate and had the TPLO op on 1st February). The specialist did a few things differently this time to try and make sure there was no post-op infection. Murphy had his 2nd TPLO op just under 5 weeks ago now and he's doing really well, much much beter this itme round (no post-op infection) and in fact Murphy is at the vets today for x-rays (a week or 2 early) cause he is doing so well on the recently op'd leg that the vet wanted to x-ray it and if all is well we can resume gentle exercise/hydro We did try Murphy on Metacam initially but it really did not agree with him whatsoever, whereas with Rimadyl we have had no troubles and he had a blood screening rdone recently to check all was ok and it was fine. Am off now to go and collect Murphy and see what the outcome of the Xrays is - fingers crossed
