  1. The problem with having a half drunk cup of tea on the side is that the cat uses it to get your attention by knocking it over. Tea goes a long way... Time for another Cuppa ☕️
  2. Now is probably a good time to check, Jayne!! Deeply regretting not following through with our application many years ago. But my Dad did say I could apply for a South African passport, yay I am not sure which government would be worse 😂
  3. Bugger off rain, it's meant to be summer. Off to France on Monday. Luckily they have sunshine. Not sure why but not looking forward to it as much since that blasted referendum. It has left me rather unsettled about many things. It also doesn't feel very democratic to be lied to by politicians everywhere. That's not a democracy I want 😢 Griff sounds exciting Jayne, any plans to move to the land down under?!
  4. Me either Alex. Really not sure what to say but it is going to be a bumpy ride for people.
  5. Gosh May has been a busy month and I am only part way through catching up. Owl I am glad that you are real!! Thanks for asking Griff, And your answer Jayne. I had an improtu visit to South Africa for my aunts funeral and then spent a few days with each of two of my cousins and a day on my own in the Kruger park. One of my cousins lives an hour from two of the gates. Sad reason to go but lovely to catch up with my cousins and families properly as opposed to visiting whilst on holiday. Back home now and Ben is off for 3.5 weeks so on my tod! Sadly Butter is poorly again but I am Keeping positive thoughts for him to help him. Ooo and we are having a new window created in our kitchen tomorrow, which will hopefully all Go well as I will be out running a marathon!! xxx
  6. Ooo Owl, yes I think it might have been if she is a big bumble bee. It was the fact it looked like a bumble bee, big and fluffy, that Inwantes to save it. Suzeanna, that's a lot to be out but depending what your leccie is for may balance out in the summer? Glad you are all well Alex. I ran Reading half yesterday and managed to break the 2:15 barrier by getting 2:13:42 thrilled to bits! Owl. Nowt wrong with being a posh lady, so long as you stay lovely with it xx Yantan, we have a market sometime during the week but Reading doesn't have an individual greengrocers, there is a fishmongers, down smelly alley! There is also a couple of butchers around xx
  7. Yes I dropped the pencil when I rescued the bee! Didn't imagine it would be impossible to retrieve. And yup bless her, she did my head in! I do love her lots, but she is bloody hard work. Ooo the sun is out today!!
  8. Yay Alex. That's good news. Jayne you don't know unless you ask! Door is fixed, friends husband sorted it out. Door now closed and I am happier if still a little grumpy. x
  9. I have jammed my back door by sticking a pencil between the pains (sliding door) to rescue a bee. Have a friends husband coming to see if he can fix it, but stupidly spoke to my mum first who is now also coming. I am not in the mood for listening to her waffle on about dogs, my sister and her kids. Just want a quiet night! Hope Alex and pets are ok. Worrying times xx Jayne, are there any dog sitters locally that will take the dog into their home? Glad you are in your new home Owl. Sorry the moan Xx
  10. Oh god Alex, thinking of you and sending hugs. My heart breaks for you and Kinky xxx
  11. Oh dear today is that housework day...boo!!
  12. Great vids griff, I love seeing dogs running free having lots of fun. I ran the palace half today, it was quite pleasant! I ran with a friend so made it a nice morning. However have to attach the housework this afternoon and I CBA'd!! Well done on the smoking Merle. But step away from the plants with the new money you'll have!! xx
  13. Oh my life, I wish I could get up at 4:30am sometimes. I bet the world is a gorgeous place then. Watching the vixen and Cubs would be amazing xx
  14. I haven't Griff, maybe I should ask them for some. I have dark patches under my eyes too which are spreading... Hope the toys aren't trashed, can they leave them behind a locked door? or take the important ones with you. I am glad your husband is ok with them coming, they might not be blood, but they are special to you. When will summer arrive, it's still too cold for my liking! We have always had deer in our garden, but usually in the morning or evening when no one is around (we see them courtesy of letting the cats in and out) however, they are much braver now and appeared yesterday lunchtime!!
  15. My get up and go seems to have vanished this year. Everything seems a challenge at the moment and I just want to sleep and sleep and sleep and for a grown up to take over the important things for a while! Loobie I feel for you and hope the outcome is better than expected. Shame anout the microfiche. Hope you sleep better soon griff Welcome to your new home owl and wispa. Very impressed by your fixit strengths Merle, funny isn't, how most work is about shovelling s***!! If I hadn't promised a new girl that I would run with her tonight I really wouldn't bother going to running club. Oh suzeanna, that sounds most exciting!!
  16. Thank you Griff, funnily enough Ben nicknamed my sister evil auntie Barbara years ago, and she continues to live up to it. Well I slept yesterday, nearly all of it! I went for a gentle run with friends in the evening to help me sleep in the evening as I hadn't made it out of bed all day. I think I was a bit tired!! Hope the birds come back soon Yantan. Well done on the squat lift Jayne xx
  17. Hello lovely peeps I am having a onesie day as I am tired! Too much running recently. Bah to siblings! My sister chose the restaurant for a family meal yesterday and they couldn't do me a meal so I had the Asian salad without prawns, the prawns must be the only nice part of it. When we left her eldest (4years) roared at me, so I roared back...he laughed first, then ran off and cried...still not sure why! Anyway I got told off by her so we left! Hope poorly animals are healing Hope annoying siblings can wake up and realise how lucky they are to have us awesome lot as family! Yantan hope your shoulder eases quickly xxx
  18. Sorry, that made me laugh :-) Jazz how tall are you, that sounds very light unless you are a fairy? xx My news today, is that we have a very shaved Butter boy home. I can't remember if I said that he had been diagnosed with two types of cancer. One operable and one they say is incurable. He has had his radiotherapy treatment and surgery to remove the lump in his chest. His breathing is much improved and there is no mucus from his nose now. However he has had his chest and belly shaved (and a section of his back, no idea why) and has lots of stitches to keep him together. However, the surgeon was really pleased with the lump removal procedure and he is home a couple of days early as they are pleased with his healing. We however, now have to try and stop him jumping up on things...hmmm...keep him to one room they said, we don't have one of "those" rooms with nothing for him to jump on! We bought him a cage, it's too small really but Wellington Boots thinks it's a great place to sleep! Cocoa on the other hand is a mass of scabs and itchiness and the vets can't find anything he is allergic to or what's causing it, the last thought was bacteria on the skin, which it isn't. He has been prescribed Atopica. 2 days of that and this evening he has thrown up over the lounge and is now feeling very sorry for himself. Sorry for missing the goings on in here for so long. Merle, how is Timmy? Yantan, how is your t'internet? Griff, how are you? Snow, how are you too? Owl, good luck with the house move, exciting times xx Brain fried for now but will try and keep up again without our weekly vet trips round the M25 love and hugs xxx
  19. Happy new year peeps. Sorry to hear your area is at threat of flooding again. We had lots of rain yesterday and more today but no flood risk here (touch wood) xx
  20. Thanks guys for your thoughts for Butter. Sorry to hear about the missing kindle Yantan. Hope the house stuff sorts it self out Owl. Hope you feel better soon Alex. I am tired, we drove to Luton today to collect Butter and have to wait till Friday / Monday for the results. He showed us the scans, and the tumour is large but I am keeping everything crossed it is treatable (although no option is curable). Poor little sausage he is only just settling down now, hopefully he will eat some dinner later.
  21. Sorry I meant to say hello and happy December too! Will read back to see who has been up to what xx
  22. Devastated, Butter has been diagnosed with cancer. He is still groggy from the biopsy and a nurse is sitting with him as he forgets to breath through his mouth. Keeping everything crossed it is treatable, but terrified at the moment.
  23. Ah just to make it make more sense we are in South Africa with his mother too.... Sorry to hear about the bed jazz!
  24. Shocked to read about Paris. Am having a lovely time in South Africa, but have learnt where those annoying habits of my husband came from....argh.... Counting to a thousand and hopefully that will work...and a lot of introspection to see what is making them press my buttons...
  25. Blimey lots to catch Up on. Hope you're healing well Jazz. I am off on holibobs on Thursday, so excited and nervous! We are off to South Africa with Bens Mum so I want it to go well which I am sure it will. My amazing physio as reactivated sleeping muscles and in the last two weekends I have beaten my reading parkrun time, my marathon time (by 12 minutes) and my 30mile time by 20 minutes. I am looking forward to what might happen when I do some training!! xx
