  1. The Facebook Serial Killer, great book!!!! Part one is free and part two in 99p or something like that. I have also read Warhorse, which IMO is a must read. I decided when I got my Kindle, that I would download some classics (many of which are free). I read Alice in Wonderland the other week.
  2. I have the Galaxy S2 and absolutely love it. My hubby and son went from iPhone 3 to the Galaxy too. Lots of apps in the Android market, camera is fab
  3. Surely she isn't 5?? I still think of her as a baby
  4. I am definitely not (except first thing in the morning )
  5. Pablo and Welina were clipped at the weekend, with shapes on their bums!! Must try to remember to get photos
  6. I am currently working in the kids dept in M&S, there is a gorgeous orange maxi dress in there that goes up to an age 16. The other day, a very slim adult lady held it up to herself and said to her friend that she was going to get it. As I walked away, I thought that it is bad enough going to a party and finding another adult wearing the same dress as you..................can you imagine if a 9 year old walked in wearing the same dress???
  7. Not very well, and if they did they wouldn't do your machine much good!! Not that I have ever tried washing my 6'9" stable rugs in the machine oh no not me
  8. Just need to come on here for a mini rant. Can't do it elsewhere because who knows where their family are members (and I know def not here). There is a family of know it alls at the farm where we keep our two, they have to be involved with everyones business. Usually I try to ignore what goes on but today the daughter/niece has really peed me off. She is nearly 14 and has been riding for years. This evening, Lauren, our friend's daughter Aimee (13)and myself were riding around the fields. Max, Aimee's pony was being a bit strong for her, so we stayed in walk as he just wanted to canter. Anyway, we were walking up a hill when Lauren looked round and saw that Anastasia was cantering up behind us on her aunty's cob Bess. Aimee shouted that Max was being a bit daft but she just carried on cantering past. Of course this sent Max off into the crop field, and Pablo almost ran into Welina's arse.........I yelled "FFS Staiz!!!" She then pulled up and turned and rode the other way. Our 3 were on pins the whole way back, it really ruined the end of a very good ride. Aimee was nearly in tears and I was shaking. When I got back onto the yard, I went straight away to let the mother know what happened, before Staiz came back complaining that nasty Andrea had shouted at her. I never received an apology from the mother or child, and to be honest, I don't think I will get one. It isn't the first time she has nearly caused an accident and I doubt it will be the last. A few weeks ago I ended up having to twitch Welina so the farrier could shoe her as Staiz kept trotting behind her on a pony. Glass of wine and chocolate to you if you have managed to read my rant..............ahhhhh feel better now!!
  9. I thought you all might like to see this. Our friend/riding instructor does pastel art in her (not so much) spare time. She showed us her portfolio of work and we asked her to do a picture of Pablo and Welina...........she has captured them perfectly
  10. I have bitten the bullet and ordered the Miele cat and dog cylinder. Have had to order it from the catalogue so I can pay it over a couple of months interest free, but they were giving me a £20 voucher as I hadn't ordered for a while.
  11. I knocked it over and the whole handle snapped off!!! I don't do things by half, if I am going to break something, I bleddy well break it
  12. Does anyone use any of the "Henry" range? I have seen that they do a "Harry the hound" pet one now. The Miele users, do you have upright or cylinder?
  13. I know this has been covered many times, but I am in the need of a new vacuum. I have a Dyson (DC01 or DC04 not sure which) the handle has snapped off and I have had it for over 10 years so am now due a new one. Any recommendations? The army have given us cream carpets in this house, and with a black dog it is no mean feat trying to get the hairs up. So over to you guys, thanks in advance xx
  14. Could the puffy eye be related to the straw? If you put fresh straw in yesterday and the eye has flared up since, could it be spores from the bed?
  15. Sammy dog is in the proverbial dog house today. When we are at the farm with the horses, he is off lead and free to do what he wants (one of the few dogs the farmer allows to do this). One of the women made a cake with her niece and brought it up to share.........anyway it was left on the side, rather near the edge. I am sure you all know what I am going to say next!! SAMMY GOT ONTO SIDE AND ATE IT!!!!!
  16. Agreed, but without "funbags" display!!
  17. 326 best get shopping!! Happy February!!! Spring is on the way!
  18. And it wasn't until I clicked on the link that I realised that the straw creation was near to me, so therefore Jodrell Bank isn't too far! The straw meerkat shown on the Snugburys website is amazing!! At night his eyes light up (near Nantwich). Edited to add the telescope is no longer there it is now the meerkat (must be annual)
  19. Merry Christmas to you all. My Christmas wish for us all is nice defrosted riding surfaces for us all!
  20. I can feel it getting warmer already (or is that the thermal undies, fleece and central heating??)
