  1. Ooo I'll send good thoughts if you could reciprocate and send them to me for my exam at 2pm Good luck Matt!
  2. Sorry just to say cos no-one else has, make sure you take ibuprofen with food
  3. Neighbours are doing DIY and mowing. I'm doing revision. They don't mix
  4. Some powers are devolved to the Mayor/GLA much like they are in Scotland etc. There is still the figurehead mayor of the City of London (the Lord Mayor of London) and of course each borough has it's own mayor
  5. I think it's a thrush?
  6. TBH I think most people felt it was time for a change from Ken, but I never thought we'd get Boris I suppose we have to thank Have I Got News For You for introducing us to him - as someone said yesterday why couldn't Angus Deyton have kept it in his pants
  7. That's right laugh at and pity us from 200 miles away
  8. So is Jay, he goes and hides in the bath or under the toilet, or if the garden door is open he will go and hide at the end of the garden
  9. Ok, just checking he didn't have the potential to poison you all
  10. Are you on mains water or do you have a private water supply
  11. Thanks everybody for all of your kind thoughts and words, they really have helped me through the past week
  12. Just got home from the hospital, poor dad has been sitting in a chair in his backless gown and a blanket ready to move since 4pm - still not gone anywhere But he should be there in time for bed
  13. Just a quick update - he is being moved to a 'normal' ward sometime this evening
  14. I'm glad he's home with you :GroupHug: Thinking of you both xxx
  15. Good thoughts for you and Bumpy
  16. Well apparently today he has moved round the corner from intensive care into the high dependency unit. It's still the same ward, but less......intensive So that can only be good news I'm off to see him later, so will let you know how he looks
  17. Well apparently this morning they have extubated him so he is now breathing with just an oxygen mask Mum is off to see him soon, and i'm going back with her later so will update then. But so far, a bit more hopeful
  18. Short but blunt really I'm trying to juggle final year coursework and revision with visiting my dad and supporting my mum
  19. Unfortunately it was a bit of an up before a down, he tired himself out yesterday and is now sedated again both to allow him to sleep and to stop him stressing about the tube down his throat. His temperatureis back up as well. It looks like he will need oxygen/breathing support for quite a while so they are probably going to do a tracheostomy tomorrow to make him more comfortable and drain off some fluid from the lungs. Thanks again everybody
  20. Please keep going with the thoughts and Reiki as it seems to be working - tonight he was awake and alert and breathing a lot more for himself. We are hoping this will be a continued improvement and not just an up before a down Thanks so much everyone xxx
  21. Thanks everybody, he had a 'stable' night; we are off to see him soon. They expect him to get worse before he makes any improvement. Thanks again
  22. I wouldn't normally do this but please could you spare a second to send good wishes to my dad, who has gone downhill very fast and is currently in intensive care with double pneumonia and is very poorly indeed Thanks so much xxx
