Some powers are devolved to the Mayor/GLA much like they are in Scotland etc. There is still the figurehead mayor of the City of London (the Lord Mayor of London) and of course each borough has it's own mayor
TBH I think most people felt it was time for a change from Ken, but I never thought we'd get Boris
I suppose we have to thank Have I Got News For You for introducing us to him - as someone said yesterday why couldn't Angus Deyton have kept it in his pants
Just got home from the hospital, poor dad has been sitting in a chair in his backless gown and a blanket ready to move since 4pm - still not gone anywhere But he should be there in time for bed
Well apparently today he has moved round the corner from intensive care into the high dependency unit. It's still the same ward, but less......intensive So that can only be good news I'm off to see him later, so will let you know how he looks
Well apparently this morning they have extubated him so he is now breathing with just an oxygen mask Mum is off to see him soon, and i'm going back with her later so will update then. But so far, a bit more hopeful
Unfortunately it was a bit of an up before a down, he tired himself out yesterday and is now sedated again both to allow him to sleep and to stop him stressing about the tube down his throat. His temperatureis back up as well. It looks like he will need oxygen/breathing support for quite a while so they are probably going to do a tracheostomy tomorrow to make him more comfortable and drain off some fluid from the lungs.
Thanks again everybody
Please keep going with the thoughts and Reiki as it seems to be working - tonight he was awake and alert and breathing a lot more for himself. We are hoping this will be a continued improvement and not just an up before a down
Thanks so much everyone xxx
I wouldn't normally do this but please could you spare a second to send good wishes to my dad, who has gone downhill very fast and is currently in intensive care with double pneumonia and is very poorly indeed
Thanks so much xxx
