  1. I certainly wouldn't be able for that. Fair play to you. (I won't put up a link of what I do. It makes me look lazy in comparison lol) Well done on 8.2 miles Mary. Jayne, are you sure it's just the air conditioning you're missing Horseriding was cancelled on Saturday cos weather was terrible. That's two weeks I'm after missing so hope next Saturday is nice. Well this morning was definitely weather for indoor walking - lashing rain and gale force winds (power went off twice). Enjoyed my 4 miles but not feeling very challenged. I need a five mile one
  2. Best of luck with job Murtle. Glad you got back in here Marion. It was a beautiful morning here also with sunshine and blue skies but went really cold this afternoon. We've escaped the snow and I'd like to keep it that way. Sam, sending good wishes for Tashy and Kitty. Terrible news about the culling Owl, loads of good thoughts for little Hope. Wispa is such an amazing dog. I love hearing your tracking stories. Glad your Auntie is on the mend.
  3. Good on ya Gooster. Well done Mary on your run and Vonny on another half pound. Don't you just love seeing the weight going down I did four mile walking workout this morning. It was grand but I might feel it tomorrow. Friday is my busy day - shopping, banking, etc., etc., etc., and probably another etc. so won't get my workout done but think I will make up for it with all the running around I've to do. I tend not do anything at the weekend tut tut. Although, I do have a horseriding lesson on Saturday. I'll never be to your standard Jayne, I still haven't mastered trotting!! Andy started lessons a few months ago and I was standing watching him and thought I wouldn't mind giving it a go. I've had 4 lessons so far and I'm amazed at the exercise you get from it. I'm in the kids class, the next in age to me is about 10 lol, but the instructor is great and is aware of my back problems so keeps an eye on me. When the evenings get a bit brighter, we'll start cycling to horseriding again (we finish at 5 so a bit dark just yet) so that will be another bit of exercise When Andy is on school holidays, we'll do cycling along by the canal. We have great fun racing each other. We can't go cycling after school as I mind my friend's daughter who is two years younger than Andy and not as experienced on a bike but again when the weather improves I'm going to bring them walking along the canal so we'll all get some exercise. All the above sounds great doesn't it!!!
  4. Thanks everyone. As I didn't get anything done today, I'm going to do 4 miles tomorrow. Glad you're happy with your shoes Murtle. Griff, you've just reminded me I have a Wii lol.
  5. Well that killed the conversation Did my three miles again this morning. Think I'll advance to 4 miles next week as didn't feel very challenged today. Won't have time to do anything tomorrow as I'll be in and out all day.
  6. Wow, you lot are all amazing I'm 46, 5'5" and weighing in at 11 stone. I want to lose about 1.5 to 2 stone. My incentive is that Andy is making his communion in May and I bought a lovely dress which doesn't fit me. It was the last one in stock and I loved it so bought it (it was also seriously reduced in price) Last year, I discovered Leslie Sansone's Walking at Home (her videos are on Youtube). I started it again a few weeks ago albeit very half-heartedly but now I'm determined. I started with the one mile, then the two mile and I'm now doing the three mile. It takes about 45 mins and is quite a good workout. You do walking on the spot, side steps, kicks, back kicks and knee raises combined with some arm movements. It gets up to quite a brisk pace (although not by any of your standards lol) and it's low impact so suits my back/hip problems. I'm hoping you guys are going to be a good influence on me
  7. Get well soon Kinky cat. Yay for Amber being found. Safe journey Owl.
  8. Very sorry Suzeanna. I will light my candle to send some good wishes their way. It's very cold and damp over here but no snow. I had lovely afternoon in front of fire doing some reading or knitting and watching telly. OH is now cooking dinner while I relax (some more) with a glass of wine and do some more knitting. All is quite nice in my world
  9. Huge congrats and the very best of luck to you and Mark
  10. A years sponsorship paid for Tobias cat via paypal. That face is gas (and gorgeous)
  11. Is there any one of the dogs (or cats) that gets less sponsorship than others and whose kitty (excuse the pun lol) could do with a boost? It's a tough decision

  20. I bought four tomato plants today. I'll get more in another couple of days. They didn't have any other plants. Small little garden centre where I get chicken food. I planted some more seeds today - courgette, cucumber and peppers. Nothing to lose only some more seeds lol Nothing like your own spuds Karen. We didn't plant any this year
