  1. not if you were my mum i wouldn't you still scare me a bit I had a very yucky thing last year that i was in Hospital with, the skin and flesh on my left shin started to break up, it started as a wee sore bit and ended up as a humungus purple black thing spewing blood and pus, yummy, Terri might have a pic of it, do you Terr ?
  2. I think the above post is lovely but it makes me wonder are fairies good or bad, everything i've read makes out they are a bit sadistic maybye it's just the trash i read
  3. Here's a liitle known fact for all you Jaffa Cake lovers, it was first made and invented in Gorgie Rd in Edin, not far from where Terri and i grew up, the site now has a BT building on it, i feel i must apologise to the nation for a Scot inventing the odious Jaffa Cake, they should be called Poop Cake, they are mingin', there i said it, and i wont take it back, so there
  4. I wanted to be a werewolf when i was very small
  5. They are not made up ! i should know.......i am one well my mummy always told me she found me on the door step (i'm not jokin' she really did tell me this when i was very small, bit sick my mum) changlings were fairies who had been put in place of stolen children, they looked the same, but were nasty, don't know what happened to the real children
  6. Are you all preggers or something ?
  7. Does that mean I am with the Faeries now ? No dear, you mean AWAY with the faeries (hope this means the same in Ireland as it does in Scotland, other wise you'll wonder what the chuffin' hell i'm on about )
  8. If Raymond E Fiest is to be believed Elves and Goblins are one and the same Goblins (the Dark Brotherhood)) took a wrong turn somewhere, and i think your just making Hobgoblins up
  9. Oh thats so so sad, she looks so beutifull, at least she had some time being loved, run as fast as you can at the bridge sweetie
  10. poor wee guy, hope he's alright, my friends dogs ate Warfrin a while ago but she got them to the vets in time and they were fine
  11. Oh poor Soph, it' horrible when this happens especially when you have a shy dog, i think you sort of did the right thing, i would have taken her back in but stayed on the sidelines away but in veiw of the other dogs and did a wee bit of simple obediance with her, this would get her thinking with her brain, rather than reacting with her fear, but not to full on that it would keep her fearfull (if that makes sense) it seems that although she would like to be friends she lacks the social skills to meet new dogs with any confidence, think of it as the diffrence between being at a party where you know everyone and they all like you and you like them, and going to a party where you don't know anyone, how would you feel if you were a bit shy ? not very comfy probebly, thats how Sophie feels, so you need to make all her encounters with new dogs good, don't try to force her into meeting new dogs, just take it at her pace, how close can she get to a strange dog before she reacts? watch her closely and look for things like liking her lips ,glancing away, tail carage (up or down) thats when to get her attention in a happy voice and treat her untill the strange dog is past, try and not let the other dog get to her, the point of the exercise is to create a new behaviour by changing her view of other dogs from "oh no here comes a dog, what should i do, oh worry worry worry, it's getting closer!!!, get away!" to " hey hey, here comes a dog, where are those treats?" it's really important that you don't let another dog mug her, she needs to trust that you will look out for her and take charge of any encounters untill she can do it for herself, hope this is of some help
  12. well done both of you, sounds like things are really coming on

    Advice Please

not a hundred % sure but i would think that a vit E overdose would have to be over a long time, i would think that you wouldn't get an overdose in one go with vits as the body will just expell the excess, unlike some thing like Paracetamol that is stored in the liver
  14. Depending on where you park your car would it be possible to sit or stand a wee bit away from the open boot, and encourage her out ? it may be that you are inadvertanty rewarding her for being fearfull, was this walk in a new place for her? you might even try coaxing her out of the boot give her a really superdooper treat and then put her right back in again, baby steps are the thing with fear
  15. oops sorry i putthis o n the wrong thread, this place is so huge i get a bit confused
  16. It does sound as if she is food sensitive, give this a try you never know, it might work, two meals of an easily digested protein source, such as a lamb and rice complete food morning and evening, please look at the ingredients, of the top of my head i would suggest JWB or Burns as i know they don't have corn in them, or you could just give her the chick and rice to each of these meals add vit B6 1mg per kg of dogs weight approx 3hrs after each of these meals feed a saucer full of pure carbs, potatoe, rice or pasta, about 2oz, if she is med size a bit more or less depending on her size, your supposed to keep this up for three mnths but you might see improvement in a week, good luck hope this is of some help
