  1. I think people are going to get fed up with my "photo competition" posts, sorry Anna, I don't know you at all, but hope all goes well for you and Snow and anyone else that needs one, as I have missed a few pages.
  2. Naturediet do a puppy version. I feed my dogs the adult version and they love it, I think it's excellent quality for a pet food.
  3. I've not heard of anyone/any animal experiencing side effects, but I guess as with anything, there will be some that it doesn't agree with.
  4. Really pleased to hear that Anya has improved . Reiki is a wonderful thing. I know Rykat posted on the Refuge for Reiki/good thoughts to be sent and lots of people were thinking of Anya I must admit that Rob, although open-minded to a lot of things, was rather sceptical of Reiki when I first started doing it. He changed his mind very quickly when he had actually received Reiki though ... If someone had told me about Reiki say 12 years ago, I'd have probably just laughed at them! It wasn't until I went to an animal healing weekend without having a clue what to expect, that my life changed - and I'm very glad it did
  5. I'm glad I wasn't the only person to read it like that
  6. I'm Angela (or Ange), have a lovely husband called Rob and four dogs - Max, Cass, Sweetie and Sno. I'm a fundraiser for the Oldies Club and currently infrequent volunteer for the Bath C&DH.
  7. Yeah, it was the bit by the pond that I was concerned about too - none of mine tried to get over it but I wouldn't have gone out and left them in the garden. My father-in-law bent a bit of metal around to fix over the latch on the gate as it did open once by itself while we were there. We went in September though so that could have been changed by the time you went. I'm really not trying to put anyone off, we had a fab time and as I said earlier, would highly recommend the place. Our little oldie did fall in the pond within about half an hour of us arriving - one of them had to, didn't they!
  8. Claire, don't worry, like I said I worry too much, so it's probably just me. The garden was completely enclosed. I don't leave my dogs in our garden alone for any length of time and we've got full fencing/walls all around
  9. Kazz, I'm not sure about dogs in the swimming pool - you'd need to speak to Carol or Trevor about that. You can drive to the sea in 10-15 minutes though if that helps. Regarding the garden, I didn't feel the garden with the house we stayed in was secure enough to leave the dogs in unattended. It was fine for a few minutes while we were in the house etc., but I wouldn't have gone out and left them with access to the garden. There's another house there, Swallow something or other, I didn't see all of it. A number of people from G/Gap have been there - with greys and lurchers - you could check with them too. I do worry a lot I did absolutely love it there and would certainly recommend it. Carol and Trevor are lovely and made us feel VERY welcome - and it was a great place to go with dogs.
  10. So sorry :Group_Hug_Emoticon: Run free Charlie What wonderful faces these oldie goldens have - enough to reduce me to tears immediately
  11. Oops too late, have done mine. Will add a bit when I pay for my "guess Patch's name" entry instead.
  12. I think the penguin knows and is looking into it once he's finished his jaffacakes
  13. I just tried with PayPal and it stayed at £1 as far as I took it, after entering my Paypal details and getting as far as the "message to seller" page with "pay" button at the bottom. Sorry, you were editing as I was posting!
  14. Oh god Sarah, I'm so sorry :Group_Hug_Emoticon: She seemed so full of life when I met her only a few weeks ago, I'm really shocked. She certainly seemed to be enjoying life in your care Run free beautiful girl

    Acupuncture

I'm sure for acupuncture for an animal you do need to get a vet referral and the acupuncture would also have to be carried out by a vet who is trained in acupuncture. I'm not quite sure how vet training for acupuncture works, whether the length of training/depth of knowledge varies. I'm not sure if your vet is able to go above your wishes and refuse to refer you, when the referall would be to an equally qualified vet Is there another vet at the practice who would be more open to acupuncture that you could see for a referral instead? I agree it's not fair when their beliefs prevent you from seeing another vet when you believe it would help. However there's a difference between him not being keen and his refusing to refer you, so I'd be tempted to be quite pushy. This might be helpful Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists Would something like McTimoney Chiropractic be worth looking into do you think? Again it has to be vet referral I believe, but I think people qualify to practice this without having to be a vet.
  16. I wasn't suggesting the people that have the dog are BI sellers, more that perhaps they might have more contact/affinity with people begging in that area than say the police or the average dog owner?
  17. How bl**dy horrible If she's being used as a "begging prop" what about contacting the Big Issue office for that area? They might have advice/suggestions? I'd be very tempted to get some "imposing" friends together and trawl the areas until I found the poor thing, if the police aren't going to help. I really hope they get her back.
  18. I used to use the tannoy at a rather large/well known toy store chain and I seem to recall we did similarly mature things like that  I started off on £1.31 an hour way back then :o
