  1. We brought Bonnie home today (after a bit of a thing with the receptionist as we hadn't gone in prepared to pay the nearly £300....... Dave had told me he'd sort it, so I thought he had a 'cunning plan' - turned to him and he had nothing! ) Anyway, she's now sitting on top of the book case, with her 'partner in crime' Harriet (aka Poobag). I was going to print off some pictures of them both, but wondered what other's do? I don't like the idea of scattering them, and I don't want them out in the garden a) incase we move and b) it's cold and damp out there, and niether of them liked the cold and wet......... Silly I know.
  2. I feel your pain. She must have had a wonderful life with you. Thank you for giving her the love she deserved.
  3. Hoping Mal makes a good recovery.
  4. So sorry to hear your news. Be kind to yourself and enjoy the good memories when you are ready. GroupHug:
  5. Since we lost Bonnie, I've seen a change in behaviour from Missy. She seems a lot more playful (although still gnashing Barney, but in a 'hey this is fun' kind of way). She woofed in a playful way yesterday, and has taken to finishing off her charges round the garden with Barney by charging down the passageway, and sliding on Barney's bed to the end, where she bounces off the door and scoots off again! She also taken to theiving Barney's balls - shock horror! It's as if she's been relieved of Bonnie gaurding duties and is getting in touch with her playful side again
  6. The scam works like this - the scammer finds somebody with something fairly high value to sell. They arrange payment by bankers draft or similar (Western Union), then casually mention they will pay somewhat more than the asking price ~(doing a friend a favour etc.) and can the seller transfer the excess funds to another account when they arrive. Once this is done and received in the new account, the payment 'bounces'.
  7. I went to Burghley many moons ago - I'd go again.
  8. That's what I use mine for too - there's also one in the car 'just in case' - hope I don't run out soon........
  9. All the 'clean your hands without water' gels were gone in Tesco this morning......

    Tragic Day

Somebody once said to me that the best thing that can happen when you look after horses is that nothing happens. They are such fragile animals, you wonder how they survived without us humans to worry about them. So sorry for those who loved him
  12. Aged 16 1/2 years, 5th October 1992 - 1st May 2009. Run free over the Bridge Womble, free from the discomfort from the elbow you shattered before you were even 6 months old. You were always kind and loving, hated being groomed or stroked for too long. You loved fish and teeny tiny bits of human chocolate. You never wanted to be any bother, unless you were shut out and wanted in, and then you didn't bark, you squawked. You were deaf, but still legged it on the beach and Scotty would have to run and catch you. You would loose your rag with Barney Doodle when he bowled you over, but would walk under his belly. You knew Missy Springer was boss, but nobody was going to take your food from you. You were loved and are much missed.
  13. Bonnie is 16 1/2, I've known her since the day she was born, and tomorrow I have arranged for the vet to come one last time. She's not been 'ill' as such, just going down hill - some days are better than others, but it's got to the stage where she isn't enjoying life any more
  14. An update - the oldest son has removed his profile from Facebook, without contacting my OH. So that will be a no then
  15. IF she truely does love animals, as I hope I do, she will live with the remorse for the rest of her life, and spend that life trying to make it up to them.........
  16. Can you find the carefully hidden Tennis balls in this picture? LOL
  17. What is it the Native Americans say about walking a mile in somebody elses moccasins?
  18. My dear OH has 2 boys from his first marriage. The oldest is married, and the youngest isn't. They were taken from him, almost literally overnight, when the youngest was 6 months old, and the oldest just over 2. The youngest possible isn't his natural son, but the son of his best friend (who is the man their Mum ran away with). He wasn't able to maintain contact with them because of thier Mum's attitude to him - making arrangements and then breaking them. They have been told alsorts of stories about how he's not a fit Dad (well believe me, he's doing a fine job with our two boys and my son) Today he found them both on Facebook, and is desperate to make contact with them. He's already sent a message to the oldest ones wife, and is now sending a message to the oldest one himself. I'm trying to convince him to take baby steps (I'm adopted, so I've got a bit of a handle on how he's feeling) but I've got this horrid feeling I'm watching a car crash happen in slow motion
  19. #3 son's (the one who had the air ambulance ride) latest effort - that is not a shadow, that's a bruise 24 hours after some horse play at school. Right hand (of course) so he's struggling to hold a pen, so kept him off school today......
