  1. Alex, whats happened at work? Hope you can get the tree issue sorted sooner rather than later. Michelle you sound like everyones dream boss. Can me and Alex come and work for you please? Alicia, hope the lumps are nothing to worry about. Mrs B glad you have gotten over your headache and I hope the 'apology' saga is over and done with too! Who have I forgotten? Brain like a sieve at the moment. Not enough room in it and stuff keeps spilling out. Our company is on two weeks factory shutdown but I am working both weeks. Its so nice not to have to listen to certain twonks all day! AND we have had the air-con on today and I had to put my jacket back on as I got chilly.
  2. Jazz, try and stay focussed. You will get there again. I have been to weigh in.... first time since 6 June. Over my target weight range not unexpectedly! Thats why I made decision to get my @rse in gear and go today and stay to class! Came home and made veggie shepherds pie for tea.... for the foreseeable future! lol By the time I have finished adding all the veggies I want in it, it always ends up huge.... not dinner for one!
  3. Congratulations to Darren. Sounds like the perfect job for him (and you) Val is right all you need to do is be the lovely caring person that you are So pleased for you both. Does that mean that you will be moving?
  4. I have not heard it yesterday or today. Had a call I think from RSPCA but as I had asked to be anonymous they wouldnt even tell hubby who answered the phone who they were. Sure they will ring again with an update. Curry for brekkie is yummy but has to be hot not cold! And leftover pizza is always yummy whatever time of day, hot or cold. I went and found a new car yesterday. They are taking my old astra in part exchange. Just have to wait for them to do a couple of jobs on it before I can go and pay for it and collect it. Then the 'new' one that I don't trust anymore (despite it not having a problem for over a week now ) is going up for sale. I just want a reliable car to tow our caravan so we can get away at weekends/holidays with the dogs. Think I am going to have to go to docs this week about my foot. Pulled my achilles heel about month ago and its still not heeled and hurts like f*ck when I put my foot in the wrong position! I can only wear crocs and one pair of shoes (work shoes) which means I am struggling with taking the dogs anywhere interesting in this crappy weather. Crocs are not good in the wet and I can't afford to slip on it. Just have to try and get an appointment outside work hours now!
  5. I was actually thinking the same thing. I have most of them too. No allspice but mixed spices might do. Slight variation on the recipe from Jamie
  6. I'm not a great fan of courgettes but that lemon cake looks delish!! What about this one then? Beetroot cake
  7. Marge, I am not a chocolate cake fan either but we did have the beetroot chocolate cake at work last year when one of our managers had a surplus of beetroot. It was rather nice, soft like carrot cake and not overly chocolatey with a hint of beetroot. Was ok actually!
  8. My speshul boy is afraid of kites too. @ Rosie cav. Jules Alex, why don't you get a water butt for plant watering purposes? Lots of councils sell them at reduced prices. Or just use any large container. Glad to hear you are having a chill day and spoiling yourself with curry and wine. Give the insurance a try with your camera. The worst they can say is no. Alicia, tell your son he is taking you to the cinema to see HP. I had to report one of my neighbours yesterday to RSPCA. Not heard from them yet so not sure if anything has been done but pup which has been doing lots of whining outside in the garden for the last few days (and nights) seems to have gone quiet.... Not sure if it has just given up whining or been taken in. Poor thing had no shelter I could see in the garden and the only water bowl I could see was upturned. Not to mention the poor baby being so lonely. I hope they have been and had A word but not looking forward to seeing them as sure they will know its me that reported them, being the only dog mad person around here amongst the usual staffie x (I own a pitbull) brigade!
  9. Thats the good thing about growing your own (and part reason why I started) you stagger what you grow and then pick what you need to use.
  10. Alex, I love your lavender and those pots are really lovely and suit it perfectly. Marge, fabulous sunflower shot! You could sell that.
  11. As I seem to have a fair few beetroot that need picking very soon, Yum!! and this one more yum!!
  12. Alex, what about fruit? Raspberry canes, rhubarb? Also peppers, onions? What do you eat? Salad and spuds are easy to grow.
  13. At that time in the morning!! I thought you were supposed to be chilling Amy, glad you managed to find some reasonably priced glasses. They are so expensive these days and its not like you have a choice in needing them! Rumpole, glad the PCSO gave the plonker a flea in his ear! I hope his appointment was important!! Griff, glad to hear that Diez is ok and Laney was a good boy. Murtle, only days now. I rang my mum and dad earlier. Since my ipphone crashed, and me realising all my 'new' contacts were saved on the phone instead of the sim card I haven't been able to speak to anyone. Everyone in my family has had new numbers in the last 2yrs since I had the phone! So let this be a warning to you, make sure your contacts are backed up to your sim and phone if possible and write them down in case you suddenly find you have no phone! Who remembers phone numbers these days!
  14. Alex and Bejo, please sign yourselves up for plant buyers anonymous. Glad to hear that Rays dad has woken up. Hope they can get to the bottom of the problem is. fo Sans little dwarfie boy My IPhone has died again and I have given up with it. Lost lots of numbers which appear to have backed up back to the phone instead of the sim card. Now have sore fingers from texting on a teeny weeny old nokia! Morrisons had cornettos on offer. two boxes for £3.00 so I am just going to have one. Shame to leave them squished in the freezer!
  15. Why pay if you can hear it for free! Hope it doesnt keep you awake
  16. Thats OK, just don't over do it! suzeanna, I hope your hubby can get a refund when he proves how awful the teeth were. Alicia, can you not get Lewis to fit some door handles for you? I hope he has managed to get the fridge freezer home ok. I think you are supposed to leave them to stand/settle after moving them before switching them on? Just in case anything goes wrong with it. Griff. Thats disgusting! I would write them a stinking letter! My IPhone keeps crashing and its really getting on my nerves now. 3hrs it was down on Sunday when I was at Foo Fighters concert, mid argument to my daughter who was supposed to be dog sitting but decided she wanted to go to a gig. Then yesterday at work again, it went and came back on couple hours later, 15 minutes before home time. And today on the way home, I text hubby and he didnt reply.... well he did but my phone crashed again and I hadn't realised. I rang O2 who wanted me to renew my contract (which is due September)to get a new phone, pay 3months on this contract and pay my new contract and £39 for the phone which I get for free in September anyway!! Cheeky feckers! I could buy a new damn phone for that! I now have an old nokia that I found laying around so I can still make calls/text if it dies again. to O2!
  17. Well done to all the losers! Still haven't been to weigh in but think I have lost about 2lb just by eating more healthily at work. Not helped much by the fact that I have pulled my achilles heel and not been to Zumba for 2 weeks and am having to walk/tread very carefully. Can only wear one pair shoes or crocs at the moment!
  18. Michelle well done on getting ahead with your assigments. Amy, get some heat on your shoulder. Hope it feels better soon And Julia' dads thumb... ouch! Julia, can you not plant your seedlings out yourself? I have a habit of killing things when I try to grow them. Or they never seem to grow properly. Heck knows how the allotment will turn out next year when we start it properly! TFIF tomorrow!!
  19. Alex, can you not go in Monday/Tuesday (I know you have to wait longer) but then have the following Mon/Tues off so you still get a week long break? And no more plant buying you are supposed to be resting on this holiday! You are allowed to look at catalogues of plants and even chose some online for when you are not on holiday and resting Mel, great news about the blood results. Must have been such a worry. Alicia, seems like you have had a decentish day with parcels arriving at the best time and getting a working fridge sorted. Hope your appointments went ok too. Owl, it must be lovely having such nice lodgers Do you have a big garden then? Glad you got your mothers transport sorted too. It will be nice to be able to take her out for day trips or even just shopping. Now I have forgotten everything else.
  20. But do you throw it all down you? Hope your washer gets sorted tomorrow... but of course it will now the sun is finished! Well done on getting your assigment done Michelle. Done two round the block walks with the dogs and saw a fox and an owl (now phebe owl) Not bad for an urban area. Both dogs are warm now as am I as I put a jumper on
  21. Julia, sounds like you have had a busy day! I think the heat tires you out more too. Michelle I hope you get your assignment finished. I have been nagging at my daughter to get her college work finished or she won't get her qualification. Must be something in the air that is keeping you all from studying Love the photo of Mia cat. Clever girl finding a hidey spot. Alicia, I hate to break it to you but its forecast rain tonight! Go and get that washing back in. I ate my homegrown veggies and despite wearing an apron when eating my dinner I STILL got beetroot down my shirt!
  22. Great achievment Sam. I hope you can continue to raise funds to enable you and the team to continue this great work.
  23. Poor Meg. Glad you found out now though rather than later. At least you can get her spayed now. And wouldn't you once like to shove the swab someone on the vet and tell him it doesnt hurt much!
  24. I have indeed been to see Foo Fighters! They were amazing!! Alex, are you still recording times etc for the music problem? I hope your day wasn't too bad being shadowed. I know you feel down but was there a negative feedback or is it just from the pressure? Marge, nothing like getting down and dirty! Especially at our age! Have to make the most of it while we still can. Well done Mags!! Sounds incredible and though I love fairgrounds rides, I am scared of heights so no way I would actually jump! Great total too! Thank you nurse Owl I will visit the chemist and see what they have. Don't have time to go to docs. I hope your lodger is mended soon so he can get back into a paddock. Alicia, glad dogs are better. Did you get your washer sorted? Jayne, well done on the wins. Good luck having your vet on hand when you needed to get the tests done. I call that recycling.. Saves waste Griff I hope you can help with catching the wayward hound. Latest on 'new' poorly car is Ignition Switch failure causing error messages. Dealer managed to look at it today and also doing a recall issue that hasnt been done. He can't rule out the airbag issue until this is fixed but thinks that this was causing errant messages. Fingers crossed its just this thing to sort it. RMF, I am cooking the first veg from my lottie, new potatoes and beetroot. No idea what I am going to have with them!
  25. Alex, you have done a huge amount of work! Top patio looks great now. Are you going to put a little table up there? I love the black tubs that you have. Did you get them from your favourite Rhodo shop? I also see you have a greenhouse. I now have greenhouse envy!
