Playful Jaydee Collie X

Jaydee is a gorgeous 11 year old Collie X who came into Oldies Club care because her owner could no longer give her the time and attention she deserves. Jaydee is now in an Oldies Club foster home in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, waiting for someone to offer her a permanent home.

Setted quickly: Jaydee settled into her foster home very quickly. There was just a little bit of tension with the foster carer's own 3 dogs at first as Jaydee wanted to play a bit more than they did! Jaydee was used to being left for fairly long periods in her previous home and she has been left for a few hours with the other dogs in her foster home with no problems.

Good with dogs: Jaydee was previously an only-dog, but she is fine living with other dogs and has shown no aggression to any dog she has met. She would be fine to live with a dog that likes to play — she loves to play with a puppy that visits her foster home!

Good with children: Jaydee is used to living with children and her pevious owner said she was fine. In her foster home she has been good with visiting 8 year olds and is quite happy to be cuddled by them. But, of course, like all dogs, she would not want to be pulled around by youngsters and would need to be given quiet time to herself when she wanted it.

Not used to cats: Jaydee isn't used to cats so could only be rehomed with them if her new owner was experienced at integrating dogs with cats.

Out and about: Jaydee really enjoys a walk and is always up for going. She is mainly being walked on lead at the moment whilst her foster carers ensure that her recall is reliable enough for her to be let off. At her previous home all her exercise was done free on a field. Although we were told that Jaydee is good in the car, she howled on the way to her foster home, but this might have been due to the bewilderment of leaving her home of 11 years. She seems much better in the car now and she settles down.

Jaydee's favourite pastimes: Trying to get dogs to play with her; Playing with toys; Being near you and following you to see what is happening; Being alert and taking part!

Jaydee's dislikes: Scared at the vet — she trembles as soon as she goes through the door.

Jaydee's perfect home: Almost any home would suit Jaydee. She'd like an active lifestyle and to be able to take part in family activities. She'd also enjoy playing with dogs either at home or out and about.

Health notes: Jaydee is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. She is in good health and the only thing to mention is that one of her legs clicks, but at her vet-check the vet couldn't find any problem with it.

Jaydee's foster carer sums her up: Jaydee is a friendly girl who has a very collie-like temperament. She may be 11 but doesn't know it and she is very lively. She will sit and give paw on command. She quickly picked up the routine of the house and she is a good house alarm and lets you know when someone is coming to the door. Jaydee is an all-round lovely dog that will make someone a loyal and faithful companion.
