Sweet little Toby is a 12 year old Yorkshire Terrier who is currently in the care of an Oldies Club foster home in Leeds, West Yorkshire. He's now just waiting for someone to offer him a loving and permanent home.

At home: Toby took no time at all to settle into his foster home and is very clean around the house. He's quite happy to be left alone for short periods of time and he has his own bed and doesn't mind sleeping downstairs at night time. Toby is quick to warn his foster family when someone comes to the door, but he's friendly with any visitors.

Out and about: When Toby first arrived he wasn't used to being walked on the lead, but he's taken to it very well now. He's still quite an active little dog. He really enjoys his walks and although he's not been off-lead yet, he does come when called. Toby travels well in the car and he gets quite excited when he knows he's going out somewhere.

Dogs and cats: Toby currently shares his foster home with another Yorkie and a Collie and he can sometimes be a little pushy with the Yorkie if there is food around. He gets on well with the Collie though and when he's out he'll have a little sniff at other dogs to say hello and then moves on. Toby hasn't met any cats whilst in Oldies Club care so we're not sure of his cat status yet.

Toby's perfect home: Toby would be happy living in a fairly active household and could live with older children. He's a playful little chap so would enjoy having lots of fuss and attention and he'd like someone who could give him plenty of exercise. Because he can be pushy with other small dogs, he'd probably be better in a home either as the only dog or with a bigger dog for company.

More from Toby's foster family: Toby is a lovely natured little fellow who enjoys a cuddle and will lift his paw when he wants his tummy rubbed. He likes plenty of attention, especially if he's in the company of other dogs. He's previously been fed from the table so he thinks he should eat when we do, but we're gradually getting him out of this.

Toby's health notes: Toby is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and has been flea and worm treated. He has no health problems, but has a small white spot at the corner of one eye and a prominent bone under his ribs. Both of these have been checked out by the vet and are nothing to worry about. Toby weighs in at 12lbs.
