Whiskey is a wonderful 13 year old King Charles Spaniel cross Jack Russell who is currently residing in an Oldies Club foster home in Feltham, Middlesex, waiting for someone to offer him a permanent home. Whiskey is a sweet and affectionate boy with a lovely laid-back character.

Settling into the home: Whiskey settled into his foster home straight away and has been exceptionally well behaved from day one. At night time Whiskey sleeps in the kitchen and makes no fuss at all. He is fully house trained and lets you know that he needs to go out by standing at the back door. He also lets you know when he is ready to come back in by knocking on the window - he is a very clever boy!

Fine to be left: Whiskey is fine to be left for reasonable periods of time and just sleeps quietly in his bed. He would be fine to live with owners that work full-time, as long as he could get a break during the day. He would also be happy with owners that are around a lot, as he is a very sociable boy.

Good with dogs, cats and rabbits: Whiskey gets on well with other dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages and is currently sharing his foster home with a canine friend. There are also two cats in his foster home and Whiskey is excellent with them — he is respectful of their personal space and seems to be very good at reading feline body language! Whiskey has also met several rabbits and again, showed no interest in them. Therefore it is highly likely that he would be fine to live with small furries of any variety.

Fine with respectful children: Whiskey has proved himself to be very good with the children that he has met in his foster home, including a four year old child and a teenager with learning difficulties. He interacted well with them and very much appreciated the attention that they lavished on him! For that reason, he would probably be fine to live with respectful children that will give him his own space and understand that he won't appreciate being mauled.

Loves walks: Despite his age, Whiskey is still active and loves going for walks. At present his recall isn't fantastic as he wasn't walked much in his former home. However, this is not really a problem as he never wanders far from your side and is very obedient so will respond well to further training. Sometimes Whiskey barks at other dogs if he is on lead, but this isn't in an aggressive way, more a I want to come and play with you way!

Good in the car: Whiskey travels very well in the car, in fact so well that you could easily forget that he is there! He just sits quietly on the back seat and looks out the window. He is also crate trained and will go in without any fuss.

Health notes: Whiskey has been vet-checked and is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated. He has a slight heart murmur but the vet said it is not a problem and will not affect his health or quality of life. He arrived in Oldies Club care with a untreated flea allergy which had caused inflammation to his skin. This has been treated by the vet and he is now on a course of antibiotics to help clear up any remaining irritation.

His foster carer says: As Whiskey is so well behaved, he never climbs on furniture unless you invite him to. He does rather enjoy sitting on your lap for a belly rub and hugs. He is very affectionate and loving and likes to give you gentle licks of appreciation in return. I'd sum Whiskey up as: affectionate, adorable, and practically perfect (but he is a snorer!!).

I hope it's ok for me to bump this, Fee?

Unfortunately, Whiskey's new home did not work out and he is now back in the care of the Oldies Club waiting for somebody to offer him a forever home.
