Beethoven - Friendly Waggy Lab/collie X

Nine year old Beethoven is a Labrador X Collie who is currently in an Oldies Club foster home in North Shields, Tyne and Wear.

He settled in very quickly and his foster mum says he’s a lovely dog who adores people and just wants to be loved in return.

Beethoven is brilliant with children of all ages and is very gentle and placid with them. He loves getting lots of fuss and attention and would therefore be well suited to a family or busy household.

Beethoven gets on well with other dogs, but he does tend to get over excited when he first meets them. He calms down after the initial greeting, but because he’s also rather strong and pulls on the lead, he will benefit from some further training and will need a fairly strong owner.

Despite this, Beethoven does have good recall – well, when there are no other dogs in sight! In safe areas where he can be let off-lead, he will walk to heel.

Beethoven hasn’t been properly cat tested, but his foster mum says he’s tried to chase one or two cats whilst he’s been out walking.

Beethoven is happy to be left alone for reasonable periods of time and he travels well in the car too. He doesn’t show any interest in toys or playing games, but he does have two pastimes – getting lots of attention and snoring! His only dislike is the vacuum cleaner.

Beethoven is in good health and has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated.

This gentle, loving, placid and funny boy will make a great companion for some lucky family!

If you are interested in Beethoven, please refer to our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process. You can then contact an Oldies Club rehoming co-ordinator as follows:

Beethoven can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet him.

Beethoven looks a little & sounds a lot like Thor (my "foster" boy for the past year) to me.

Based on that I'm sure that anyone who takes Beethoven into their heart(s) & home will never regret it.
