Boysie is a gorgeous 15 year old small/medium Terrier Cross who is in an Oldies Club foster home in East Harling, Norfolk, waiting to be offered a lovely new home. We were very glad that we were able to offer Boysie a place with us as he had been home alone, with family popping in, for 3 whole months when his owner had to go into hospital and sadly couldn't return home.

Despite his ordeal, Boysie settled into his foster home within about a week and he is fine to be left alone for a few hours with no problem. He's a sweet boy who loves snoozing in his bed, or in the sun. He also loves his food!

Boysie's ideal home would be a quiet and calm one with someone around for a fuss when he wants it. He has not lived with dogs or cats before but he is friendly towards most dogs he meets, and when he sees cats on walks he doesn't take much notice of them. He is happy to be fussed by children he meets but he wouldn't want to be troubled by young children. A home with older children might be OK for him.

He loves a walk but is a sniffy kind of dog, so it can be slow progress! Boysie is very deaf so he is being walked on an extending lead, but he has been let off and he stayed close; at home he will come to you if you give him a hand signal. He is very good in the car.

Boysie has been vet-checked since coming into Oldies Club care and he is microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea-treated. He isn't neutered and he won't be because the vets have advised against it due to his age. We were told that Boysie had a sensitive tummy, but in his foster home he is fed on Denes canned food and James Welbeloved dry food and has had no problems. The vet said he has a slight heart murmur but that he doesn't need medication.

Boysie is an independent fellow who potters around a lot of the time choosing where to snooze: Garden?/Bed?/Sofa? He still enjoys playing with a ball sometimes and he likes affection. He also likes to sit by a window watching the world go by; we were told that this is what he did when he was home alone, bless his heart.

A summary of Boysie from his foster carers is "He is a friendly, independent chap who fitted in very easily with us as we are retired and at home most of the time. He potters about with us in the house and garden and enjoys a fuss. He seems very happy here and would suit this kind of situation. We can't think of anything negative to say about Boysie".

Just an update :flowers:

Boysie is still sitting by a window watching the world go by. He is a sweet little old gentleman who is very good with my dogs and takes no notice of the next door cat.

Boysie has been down to the beach with the dogs and grandchildren. The grandchildren love to fuss him and play ball with him which he is happy to for this to happen.

Then we went for a long walk in the woods and sand dunes but as Boysie is a sniffy kind of dog, so this was a slow progress. Bless him

When we had a picnic on the beach he was happy to eat the children's chicken. Boysie then lie down on the blanket and watch the birds for a little while and then fell fast to sleep. This is his snoozing time which he likes to do in the afternoon.

Poor little Boysie is still waiting patiently for his forever home. He's such a sweet, undemanding little chap, I don't understand why he hasn't been snapped up.

Boysie is quite happily living with other dogs in his foster home, and we think he would be OK with cats too.

There must be someone with a Boysie-shaped place on their sofa!
