Fee
Trixie is an 8 year old Jack Russell Terrier (short-legged type) who is in an Oldies Club foster home in Congleton, Cheshire. Cute little Trixie settled into her foster home straight away with no problems at all. Her foster mum says she has been no trouble whatsoever. She’s a delightful little girl who would like a loving home and would enjoy living with another steady dog. She loves cuddles and company but she is fine to be left for reasonable periods. Trixie is good with other dogs and is sharing her foster home with the gorgeous Cooper. She seems to have taken quite a shine to her handsome canine host - and who could blame her! We were told by her previous owner that Trixie is good with all small animals, so she could probably live with cats, although we haven’t cat-tested her yet. She is a timid little girl though so any children in her new home would need to be of the older, sensible variety. Trixie drying off in her dressing gown after a bath! In her previous home, Trixie hadn’t been walked for some time and so she had ingrowing nails when she arrived. These are gradually being corrected with regular trims at the vets. She walks pretty nicely on a lead now that she has got used to walking again. She doesn’t like her collar being put on though, so even though she is keen to go for a walk, there is a bit of a chase to get her collar on! This will obviously only be a problem if you choose to remove her collar when she’s at home. Trixie hadn’t been taught recall, so her foster mum is working on this using a long line. She is gradually learning and will come back if you have high value rewards - a slice of ham seems to work quite well! Trixie is well behaved and quiet in the car. She’s a sweet little thing and is frightened of raised voices and apparently has a phobia of fireworks. Trixie has been vet-checked (no health problems found) and she is microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, wormed and flea-treated. ————————————————– If you are interested in Trixie, please refer to our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process.
