Freda is an 8 year old Whippet X Staffy (19ins to the shoulder) who came into Oldies Club care after her owner became ill and could no longer care for her. She is in an Oldies Club foster home in Milton Keynes.

Freda has proved to be an absolute dream. She’s an intelligent girl who loves playing ball, in fact she’s slightly obsessed with playing ball, and she also loves to be fussed and cuddled.

Her foster carer tells us: †Freda is a wonderful little dog. She is a joy to look after and has not been any trouble at all. She displays a lot of affection. This is one foster dog I would love to keep but I must keep open a space for another. I will miss her very much when she leaves for her new home and will no doubt shed a few tears, she has made that much of an impact on us. Her forever family will be very lucky to have this litte girl.â€

Freda settled into her foster home after a couple of days and she is fine to be left for a few hours. She is good with dogs - she is currently living with 5 greyhounds - and there have been no problems at all when she meets other dogs. She doesn’t like cats though and so needs a cat-free home. She is good with children, but when playing she will snatch her ball from your hand with excitement, so it would be best if any children are about 9 years and over. You can stop her snatching the ball with a firm No, Leave it.

Freda is good on and off lead. She likes you to keep throwing the ball for her and in that way you can have her constant attention, but without a ball her recall is not great, but she doesn’t go too far from you. She is very good in the car and likes to look out of the window.

Freda has no known health problems. She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. She was scared at the vet but on her second visit was much better. She has two fatty lumps - one on her tummy and the other on a back leg - these have been tested and the results are due back imminently.

Can you offer playful Freda a fun-filled new home where there’s lots of affection on offer?
