Poodles In Need Rescue
NEW UPDATE Feb 1st - Jed has been offered another home - they are fully aware of what happened last time but are very experienced GSD owners so HOPEFULLY things will work out this time!! He should be going to his new home very soon so just waiting for confirmation, Jay THIS IS NOT A POODLES IN NEED POST This is Jed Jed is a wonderful 2-3 year old who, despite being dumped, has proved to be a most loyal and loving boy, well trained, well behaved, very obedient, good with other dogs, travels well, etc etc After being apparently dumped in a field in the middle of nowhere, it took his rescuers 4 days to locate and catch him - and they are so pleased they persevered!!!! He was very thin and very weary. All efforts to find his owner/s failed but after lots of TLC with very experienced rescuers, vaccinations and vet checks, he is now looking for a home where he will be loved and cherished for the rest of his life. If anyone has a home to offer, or knows of someone who may be able to help him find his FOREVER home, please contact me and I can put you in touch with his rescuers. Poodles In Need Rescue
He is Jacqui!! In real life he is magnificent!! Even more so now that he has been loved and cared for. Bless him - he seems to be the perfect pet, so how he came to be dumped is anyones guess!! He knows and obeys so many commands and is everyones friend - his only 'flaw' was that he pulled a bit on the lead but he doesn't even do that anymore! Poodles In Need Rescue
NEW UPDATE Feb 1st - Jed has been offered another home - they are fully aware of what happened last time but are very experienced GSD owners so HOPEFULLY things will work out this time!! He should be going to his new home very soon so just waiting for confirmation, Jay Jed is back so sad but it was the right thing to do - for Jed. If, after reading the following update - anyone enquiring about Jed before is still interested in him and feels they have the right home to offer, PLEASE contact me ASAP for direct contact details................. Sadly, Jed is back and still looking for his forever home. His new owners really loved him and say he is the most perfect dog, except for one problem and that problem is the reason why they decided that it was in his best interest to let him go and hopefully find a home where he will be just as loved but also be more relaxed and therefore happier. The reason - Jed's new home was a busy place with lots of comings and goings of family and friends. As long as his new owners were in the house he was fine - just a little anxious if he was downstairs and they were upstairs - but if they were out he was always 'on guard' and wouldn't let anyone else into the house – not other family members, friends nor even the dog walker (who he did growl at) if he was needed to be walked because they were going to be out for a while! They say Jed is spotlessly clean in the house, doesn't chew and would settle down in his own bed of his own accord in the kitchen at bedtime – even if they were out. He eats absolutely anything, very easy to please where food is concerned. He will sit, give a paw and he will stay, but not all the time, and will be groomed quite happily but doesn't like it for too long at one go. Outdoors, Jed is good on the lead, either short lead or extending lead. He can be a little touchy about things being put round or over his head and ears but no aggression. He has very good recall when off lead. He will chase crows (!) but always comes back. He will play fetch, catch and understands NO! He is also very quick to learn and loves to travel in the car, though a little wary of cars if they go rushing past him. He would probably be fine in a home with a more settled routine and not so much coming and going, at least for starters. He is really still not much more than a baby but obviously needs a fairly settled home lifestyle. ALSO, maybe one which is not too scary - he was taken to a police testing centre to be out through the paces, just in case. He fell at the first hurdle. He was onlead with a police officer walking through trees when a HOODY (another police officer with hood!) jumped out at them from behind a tree - Jed fled and hid behind his handler Everything crossed for him, Jay PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS NOT A POODLE RESCUE POSTING - please contact me for contact details Edited February 1, 2009 by Poodles In Need Rescue
