Ever Felt Like Some Things Are Not Meant To Happen!

We have been asked to provide the photography at the British Flyball Championships this weekend, which is quite an honour as normally Nick Ridley (one of top dog photographers in the country) does them, but the fates seem to be against us.

We work in a party tent which we bought in May, after two uses the side panels ripped. I contacted the company in July and was promised replacement panels for the weekend as we were doing photography. Dispite numerous phone calls they never turned up and on the following Monday was told that the colour we have (navy) was not in stock  . I told them that we must have them by the beginning of this week (which I put in writing). So last week I started to chase them and the person I dealt with was on holiday and they could find no information about it and they had no navy in stock. On Monday someone promised that they would send me some grey side panels so we had something for this weekend so I worked at home on Tuesday and my parcel arrived with a replacement roof!!! I did eventually get the replacement sides yesterday evening, white not grey but at least I should be dry.

We power the computer equipment with a generator, also bought in May, when we were on holiday the other week it died on us. Numerous calls and emails to the company, leaving messages but no one got back in touch with us. I finally managed to speak to someone last Wednesday who said he had given our details to their engineer who would call me. Come Friday, still no call so my OH called and managed to get the name and number of the engineer. He said no-one had asked him to call us  He was very helpful and suggested a fix but unfortunately it didn't work. We took it too him this week but he cannot guarentee that it will be ready for today - so we might have a slight problem with power!!

Finally ink, we use quite specialist printers so it is difficult to buy so we ordered a large stock of it at the weekend with express delivery. This company is normally very good at getting stock out to us, but this time nothing arrived. I have just called them and they said as two items were not in stock they have not sent it out, but didn't bother contacting us to tell us and their website said they were in stock. We are leaving tonight as racing starts tomorrow so I have finally arranged for them to be delivered to a local post office and I will have to go and collect them - what are the odds of them not being there.

The thing that winds me up the most it the total lack of customer service. The first company regularly promised to call me back and never did, the generator company never responded to our messages and the ink company didn't think it was a good idea to let us know there would be a delay.

Hopefully our tent will be dry and stay in one piece, our genny will be fixed and the ink wil be there tomorrow and everything goes well, but I am waiting for the next thing to go wrong

Customer service is something I have a real bugbear about these days, I'm turning into a right grumpy old woman..."in the old dayssss" - I hate that feeling that you are bothering someone for asking them to provide you with what's been promised.

It'll all be alright on the night, as they say :)
