lazydaisy
My current shed is leaking on the 2 long sides and the floor does not look as if it will last for another winter. I have been looking at metal sheds and would like to know does anyone have any experience of them. I want a waterproof shed to keep bikes and bits dry. It will be going onto decking, so would I need to have a base for the shed?
ranirottie
they are sturdy and safe, we used to have one, but they are like saunas in the summer!. x
ClazUK
We build one at White Lodge. It was an absolute sod to build but once up served us well. I inhertited one when I moved here and it too aaaaages to take down, despite being quite old, so I guess they are fairly robust. Building one is not a one-man/woman job, so if you go for it, enlist someone. I think there were about 160 components including the screws! We build ours directly onto a concrete pad, the one I demolished was sitting on concrete paving slabs. I guess it would be fine on decking - I think all you need is a flat and well drained location. jane-f
If you do decide on one - just make sure its securely bolted down to a solid base, i had one and in very high winds it ended up in next doors garden, when i got it back it was that twisted the scrap man ended up taking it.
