purple_mog
Hey guys - to cut a long story short it turns out one of the folk in the class I assist in (training club) has just bought a 3 month old pup, registered pedigree yorkie, born in and from Wales....poor thing is very shy and looks to have a belly full of worms. They're going to their vet asap for a check-up and I'll see them in class (with their other dog) next week. I explained briefly where their pup is likely to have come from - they bought it in a pet shop - and that careful socialisation and lots of calm handling skills are really important. Now - are there any particularly useful links I can give them, or info bits I can print out that a) give them the rough background on puppy farms so they understand b) give them an idea of what to expect with a pup like this? The owners are doing very well with learning positive reward based training with their older dog and seem genuinely surprised that buying from petshop wasn't a great idea. I feel sure they will do everything to help this wee pup get a good start in life too thanks!!
