Fee Posted July 22, 2008 Report Share Posted July 22, 2008 When Rusty’s lifelong owner sadly passed away, he had nowhere to go and was quite upset by the sudden change in his life. Luckily for Rusty, Oldies Club were able to take him into their care and he’s now in a foster home in Nottinghamshire. Rusty is a small Collie Cross who stands about 20 inches at the shoulder. He’s 14 years old and is a very friendly chap who loves getting fuss and cuddles. If there’s a place on the sofa he’ll happily squeeze in to sit beside you! Rusty is great with other dogs and currently shares his foster home with two oldie greyhounds. He’s so relaxed and friendly he’s even up for sharing a food bowl now and again! He likes to bark at strange dogs he sees out on walks, but he soon wags his tail and says hello when they get close. Rusty is good with all people and may even be able to live with cats with a proper introduction. He’s met a couple whilst out walking and seems to just ignore them. He loves his walks and gets very excited when his lead comes out. He pulls a little to start with, but soon settles down and has been off lead in places he’s familiar with. He doesn’t have good recall as his hearing isn’t good, but he prefers to stay close to you anyway. Rusty is happy to sleep downstairs at night and doesn’t mind being left for reasonable periods during the day. He’s fully housetrained too and always lets you know when he needs to go out. He’ll make a lovely companion for someone and would be happy with a single person or a family with older children. Rusty has recently been neutered and flea and worm treated. He will be vaccinated and microchipped before being rehomed. If you would like to find out more about Rusty, please refer to our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process. If you would love to offer a home to an oldie like Rusty but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are not likely to be offered a permanent home.
