Allie

Allie is an older collie cross, she can be slightly nervous in new situations but remembers she is a lady and takes it on the chin with just a little trembling. One she realises things are ok then she turns in to a cuddle dog who wants to be loved. Although older she is not elderly and still enjoys her walks and play time so she is looking for a quieter forever home that she still gets some lovely walks in in a day and maybe a game of fetch. Allie has lived with other dogs and cats in the past and chickens so would be suitable for a wide range of homes although maybe older children in a household rather than young ones

yes she is still looking bless her. she is very unsure of strangers so she really doesnt sell herself at all well when people come to see her. Once she knows someone she is a lovely dog but people just dont see the lovely side of her unless they come back a couple of times to befreind her properly

Sad update on Allie today

Allie has been not well the last few weeks. She has been getting snappy with the kennel staff and showing some discomfort around her hips. We had her to the vets and did a course of rimadyl to see if that helped her. It was hard to know with Allie if it did or didnt, Allie has always been a scared girl in kennels and found using a snap got her out of doing things she didnt want to do. She went back to the vets today for xrays to see what was going on

The vet found very bad hip displacia in her left hip and also severe arthritis in both hips. In his opinion Allie would need both hips replacing, one now and one at a later day, the vet felt that with Allies nervousness etc. it would not be in her best interest to go through these ops We had a meeting and decided that we should let Allie go whilst still under anesthetic. Allie would not have coped well at having to keep returning to the vets for check ups and the long rehabilitation which would include hydrotherapy etc.,

I know the girls at the kennels are upset they didnt see Allie go to a new home, as we all are, but I have to thank them for the brilliant way they have dealt with Allie these past few weeks, treating her with the kindness only a animal lover can show

Good Night God Bless Allie, the bridge for you will be worry and pain free
