Doggie Leukemia

If you have a chance to post a photo of him that would be useful (but not essential) :flowers: There's also a Reiki thread in the Health section on here (in the training/behaviour section) if you wanted to put a request on there.

Have you thought about seeing a homeopathic/holistic vet alongside your usual one, to see if they can make any suggestions to help him through this?

:GroupHug: I'm sorry to read that you & Rosco must face this. It wasn't leukemia but I lost one of my own German Shepherds to cancer & found various cancer sites. You may find something helpful in one of these. Good luck :flowers:

I have experienced Acute Leukaemia with a dog of mine in may last year, she was 5 yrs old :mecry:

They gave me an initial diagnosis of leukaemia, so i researched it. I found this article and knew it was the acute and not the chronic that she had.

Do you know which type Rosco has?

I would be happy for you to pm me if you would like to chat about it, i don't have experience with chronic leukaemia though :GroupHug: but i fully understand what it is you are going through and offer my 'virtual' shoulder to you if you need it.

Thankyou for the links and support.

I will know much more on friday after he has been in for the day and had his x-rays and further tests to see exactly how far it has gone, Rosco was given a jab at the vets and steroids for this week to see if he perks up on them, i was told if he didn't perk up with them then he has a few months left but if he showed good signs then possibly a year or more, he has perked up a bit since the jab and steroids and he has eaten a little too which is a great sign. I'll update you on Friday.
